Transporter: Special Delivery Edition

Has anyone gotten a screwed up copy of this? I'm hoping this isn't the case with all copies:

My disc skips at right around this scene, everytime. There's probably a layer change going on here, but my player isn't junk and can handle those fine. Plus, there's this white speck that appears at the top of the picture.

Can anyone check if their copy does this?

I've watched my copy twice now, all the way through and I haven't noticed any problems.

I didn't notice any skips when i watched it this weekend. What is the time that the error occurs?

It happens at 44:38.

I've tried a few players, and the skipping only occurs on one of them, but that white speck is always there.

I've tried out the disc in PowerDVD, Media Player Classic, as well as my GIEC standalone player.

I think I'll just exchange my copy, since no one else seems to have any problems like mine.

For anyone still wanting to grab this, Regal Theatres will be doing a handout with tickets purchased to Transporter 2 this weekend. The handout is $5 off the SE. Hope this helps someone.

So you can't do both....get the dvd for the free ticket and get the ticket for $5 off the dvd. There must be a way to work this deal without spending $10 in gas.

I guess you could buy the DVD, use the ticket inside to see the movie, thereby getting the $5 coupon, then re-buy the DVD, then return the unopened DVD with the original receipt.

Of course, I wouldn't spend all that gas driving just to save $5, but if you were going to go to the store anyway I guess its an option....

Almost as cheap as if you bought it at the Wherehouse.

$12.99 plus tax = $14.xx, minus $7 rebate = $7.xx, minus $7.50 in movie cash = free. Sort of.

I didn;t have any problems with the copy i rented from blockbuster. I did really like the new dvd though. Special features were awesome. with the free ticket to the sequal, i might have to break my "no buying new dvds when first released" rule and pick this up.

warning! some potential spoilers ahead!

my best friend totally loves this movie. he even sent me a "happy transporter 2 day" text message this morning.

now I have a question for all of you who own this new edition of the disc:

*potential spoilers*

in the original trailers on TV, there was a quick shot from the scene where the badguys are shooting up the transporter's house. A missile/rocket is fired into the house and the transporter picks up a serving dish/platter and deflects the rocket to one side.

Now in the theatrical cut, there was no "missile deflection". And my friend says its not on the original DVD release either.

Is this footage included anywhere on the new release of the disc?

Eh, if it's not on the set then I'll still be a happy camper. I knew the movie would want to reach out beyond the lines of reality a little bit of course, but that was the one thing in the trailer that screamed 'eye roller' to me. I'm thankful it's not in the film and quite possibly not on the extras. I'm at work so I can't check that out right now.

Did they bother to re-edit the bus fight for this release version? I ask because prior to this being released I was going to the get the tad pricey Japanese release and then I heard how cheap this one was. So I'm wondering if they took the opportunity to re-edit the fights or not.

I just picked the disc up this evening, and my copy also has the white speck at that point (although it's only there for maybe a frame...blink and you'll miss it) in conjunction with the brief pause/layer change shortly thereafter. Sounds like a normal occurrence to me. I guess some people just have totally bitchin' DVD players that don't eff up during layer changes. Alas, I am not one of those.

so you didn't like the rocket/ tray deflection? Hmm, then you should probably skip part 2. There is stuff like that in it( I can think of three different things right now). I enjoyed it. Its like rocket/tray deflection times 30.
