Is NOES collection eligible? I think all of the titles were released individually prior to the set. Not sure though.

Groucho, I want the giftset that has Volumes 1, 2, and 3, as well as the salt and pepper shakers and the script. if i can't have that, just give me volume 4. thanks.

groucho, this is the one i'm refering to:

http://www.dvdfile.com/software/revi..._5/et_ugs.html

i thought there was alot on here that wasn't included in the regular CE, but you're the boss i will stand with your decision.

I think the thread in dvd bargains said they were released after the set.

edit:
For what it is worth:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=432678
They said the ones in the collection were released later in red boxes. Too lazy to do any real checking to see if they were released before the set.

here is my take on the hitchcock set. It was released same day as the individual titles (Like the Toy Box, alien quadrilogy) You could say it was a rerelease of the anchor bay titles, but it had exclusive content like radio shows, documentaries, and commentaries not found anywhere else. Other re-releases have been allowed in this draft when a more complete edition was put out (Fear & Loathing, Scarface, Dawn of the Dead, T2, Lotr EE, Se7en, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Professional, Twilight Zone, Brazil Clerks, Gone with the wind)

Thanks for the hard work Groucho...I'll stand by your desicion

ryuryu2949, as previously stated the Seinfeld 1,2,3 giftset is ineligible. So I'll swap you back to season 4.

dollfins, I believe two of the discs in the ET gift pack are exactly the same as those found in the CE, which is why it's ineligible. I went ahead and put you down for the CE, but I can change it if you want.

NOES, as I recall these initially came out in the box set only. Down the line the films were released individually.

Cameron I think you're correct...I'll go ahead and allow it unless somebody can state otherwise.

As always, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. I'm pretty much going from memory on this stuff.

The Hitchcock titles had been released by Criterion individually before the boxed set.

The 39 Steps and The Lady Vanishes were released well before Wrong Men/Notorious Women and everything in the set is available in the individual editions.

Let me clarify something...a box set is ineligible if even one disc is the same as a previous release. But if the disc is changed in some way (new commentary, new transfer, whatever) the box is fair game.

Does this make sense?

Based on that, I think the Hitchcock set is ineligible (sorry for waffling on this, I'm relying on you guys to tell me what came when)

I'm going to disallow that for the same reasons I disallowed the other Warner collection.
