btw, for anyone interested in the excellent Danish releases, I had a good experience with this place:
http://www.laserdisken.dk/html/index.dna
Ordering was a little confusing as it is not in English (I used translation webpages to figure it all out), but after I placed my order, a guy from the site emailed me in English and told me that if I need help with placing future orders to just email him and let him know.

here is the email he sent me:
Everything on Laserdisken.com is written in the Danish language, so you
probably don't understand a whole lot. If you have any special requests,
please feel free to contact me.

You put DVDs in your basket by clicking on the blue basket symbol. Your
basket is placed on the left side of your screen ("Kurven").

You go to checkout by clicking on the blue "Til kassen" link:

At Trin 2 you confirm your address. Click on "Nęste trin".

At Trin 3 you choose "Betalingskort" to pay by creditcard. Click on
"Nęste trin".

At Trin 4 you confirm your order by clicking on "Nęste trin" and you'll
be forwarded to a secure site to key in your cc info.

At Trin 5 you key in your cc info. "Kontrolcifre" is a 3-digit security
code used in Denmark and some other countries. If your credit card does
not have a security code you leave this field blank. Click on "Betal
..." to finalize the order/payment.

In case you missed them:

Dogville (2-disc):

Breaking the Waves (2-disc):

I have a list of all available Danish-language movies with optional
English subtitles. Let me know if you're interested.

Best wishes

Unfortunately the 4 disc set that had both parts 1 and 2 together is out of print and no longer available, but you can still easily order the two parts seperately.

Riget I (2-disc)
http://www.laserdisken.dk/html/visva...99406782395069

Riget II (2-disc)
http://www.laserdisken.dk/html/visva...99406860396062

Each is listed for 99 kroners which is like $16 USD.

99.00 DKK Denmark Kroner = 16.2319 USD United States Dollars
1 DKK = 0.163959 USD 1 USD = 6.09909 DKK

from: http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi

BUT, it ended up being a cheaper price than that once VAT or whatever taxes were taken out of the price at checkout, then the shipping charges pretty much balanced that out, so both sets were rather cheap in the end....probably cheaper than it will be to buy them both here from Koch when they come out, so people who can play PAL Region 2 dvds might want to consider getting these Danish discs.

I'm surprised it took this long for a Region 1 release - but nice to see it's finally happening.

For what is worth the Danish set is SUPERB and I won't worry about anything. Let me even go on record here and say that when all is said and done Koch Lorber will not be the winner here. PROVE ME WRONG!! and I will publicly apologize on this forum. With other words there is so much care in these Danish sets (design, package, audio/video quality, etc). that I can not worry about anything.

The above Scandinavian list needs updating, maybe we should bring it back up in the International forum.

Does this mean I should sell my 3 case set I purchased 4 years ago from a link off this site?

if you mean the region 0 asian discs.....i traded mine away when i decided to get the Danish discs. If nothing else, I wanted to have the episodes divided into their seperate episodes properly with subtites over von Trier's narration at the end of each episode. Those asian discs make 2 episodes into 1 episode on each disc side. This cuts out the end credits of the first episode, and the opening credits of the second episode. Also, von Trier's narration during the end credits of each episode is not subtitled.

I have no idea what the new Koch discs will be like, so you might want to wait and see before making a decision, of course unless you can watch R2 PAL dvds. In that case, it would be safe to sell the asian discs now, and then when the Koch discs come out, decide between those and the Danish discs (or just get the Danish discs now).

Yeah, I don't see how people don't know about it. It was put by Warner in 2003, costs $35 Canadian, and is a really good set. Very easy to get from Canada.
