Rock-A-Doodle.

My girlfriend and I were having a conversation a few nights ago about horrible children's films from our generation and that one came up.

Burn! (US title, the original title is "Queimada") is not as fascinating as Pontecorvo's previous, and landmark film "The Battle of Algiers" but it's still well worth a look. I also like "A Dry White Season" quite a bit. It's offers an accurate portrayal of South Africa's aparheid at it's worst. It was futile to fight it, but some still tried.

OMG! I haven't seen The Heavenly Kid in years. used to watch it daily on HBO back in the day, though. awesome that it's coming to DVD!

i just hope we get a anamorphic transfer.

Cornelius1047,
Er...yup! Thanks!

************************************************

I'm glad the criminally underseen "Hard Promises" is finally coming out, in addition to the wonderful "Heavenly Kid"!

Holy crap! They are finally releasing The Missouri Breaks!? A very underrated Nicholson/Brando/Arthur Penn release.

I will probably also get The Heavenly Kid. Will have to put that in my fave HBO 80's movies along with Just One of the Guys and Can't Buy Me Love.

I'm glad I didn't pickup the r2 Burn! I was just going to order it this week. Now I'll wait for the r1.

What the FECK !!!

MGM/Sony go and release OC & STIGGS - only to release it as a 2.35:1 NON ANAMORPHIC !!!

Why ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

What a pointless release by MGM - and a waste of time and money by me !!
