"Lost" Exclusive Bonus DVD at BestBuy

I just noticed on the site that their version will have a bonus DVD (figures - I just cancelled there and bought somewhere else to save on shippng and sales tax).

I am wondering if this stuff is really worth-it, in particular, what is this episode that is exclusive to the disc???

Bonus disc features:

* 43-minute "Lost Journeys" episode
* "Flashbacks & Mythology" — a new minidocumentary that explores the stories and storytelling methods of the show
* "Lost: On Location" — two additional behind-the-scenes featurettes
* "White Rabbit"
* "The Moth"

Damn, I wonder what they're gonna sell it for. Might be worth trekkin' to Best Buy... otherwise I was gonna order online.

edit: Okay, looks like $39.99. It also looks like you have to order it online... but not sure about that. You also get a $10 digital coupon.

Best Buys bonus discs are rarely anything special. This just sounds like more fluff.

I dunno, that special, while nothing more than a clip show, is certainly more than the typical Best Buy fluff bonus disc. I'd say that seals to deal for me.

Too bad it doesn't have the bit with Jimmy Kimmel visiting the set.

Thanks! I cancelled my Coconuts order and ordered this. The $10 certificate was the difference for me.

Definitely more than the typical bonus disc. For those that didn't watch the show during its run, this episode is completely worthless if you are watching the set on dvd. It has no bearing on the story whatsoever and can definitely be skipped over. It was just a cheap way to fill in one week during a 6-10 week gap of reruns to get the viewer back up to speed before the final 5 episodes aired. Save yourself 45 minutes of time.

I cannot however vouch for the other features.

I guess I can just order it from there, would rather just pick it up. Are we positive that you can't get the bonus disc at a BB?

Yeah, it's hard to tell. But you do need to pre-order to get the $10 coupon.

Any Best Buy employees can confirm if they've received the bonus disc in-store?

To add to this mix of bonuses, the UMD of the first two episodes has some exclusive features as well.

What is it with all this "exclusive" crap? Why can't we have a definitive version, with nothing missing??

Where have you been? Best Buy, Wal*Mart, Target etc have been doing this for some time. It's all part of a marketing plan and it won't go away anytime soon.

Does it suck sometimes? Yes....

Maybe it will be the same stuff that's on the DVD that comes with the LOST book.

It wouldn't be very exclusive then, if you can walk next door to Border's and get the book/dvd combo.

What I'm perplexed by is why isn't "Journeys" on the set itself? Or is it, and the only real exclusive stuff is the featurettes?

Thanks jkzahn. I just ordered this- hopefully the bonus disk will be interesting. Although that $10 digital coupon is a very nice incentive anyway!

I checked the Amazon listing and Journeys doesn't appear to be on it. I would almost rather it wasn't anyway, as there is no real new content on it. That way the space can be used for something else.

Is that $39.99 price before or after the coupon? If it's before, and the final price is $29.99, I may bite.

Just don't consider whatever you use that coupon on to be $10 less or else you're just lying to yourself
