I used to get error messages when I clicked on people's DVD Profiler links, but it turned out I needed to update something in my browser. Try a different browser maybe, as an experiment? It might not be worth it to you though.

EDIT:
I just went over there and I see they are having a problem with the site. The forums are down. My stuff is all there but with gobbledygook at the top of the page. I've been there for most of a year and have never seen anything like this before there. I imagine Croy was updating the site and something got a little buggy. You just had bad timing to hit it at this exact moment. You may want to try later and check the forums when they're back to see what the deal was.

I format, and customized my own using: Microsoft Word Processing.

Personally, it's more of a convenience than using a commercial website, due to the fact that it's not a requirement for the user to go online, to gain access to their catalog.

Also you are enable to create a shortcut on your desktop, whenever you want to update, or delete information for reasons unknown.

That's one of the advantages of DVDProfiler

DVDProfiler

DVDSpot is also good, but I haven't updated that one in a little while.

Alright, I'm glad it wasn't just me. I'll give it some time.

I use several, but I like DVD Profiler best. I like the look of it. I like how it imports stuff (it's only one at a time, so it's a pain getting setup at first, but it easy to put in what I paid and where I got it). I like the export (so I can easily pop everything into a spreadsheet). I like a lot of the reports (some of the ones for making a print catalog are cool, and there's also a report that shows how much you've paid relative to MSRP, a feature someone asked about).

DVD Aficianado I like the folders, and it's handy when you want to import a whole bunch of titles (but I find it cumbersome for putting in prices and stuff, so I don't use it for that).

I use DVDSpot. But I'd prefer if there were more titles in there. I like to see what DVDs I have pre-ordered but I usually have to end up adding them in the database first.

I just registered on DVDSpot today and I'm about 1/3 of the way through adding my collection by hand. I've gotten a little frustrated with the anime listings on DVDAF which is what I usually use. I'll continue using DVDAF but so far DVDSpot seems to be a little more accurate at least anime wise.

Did their import function not work for you or do you just prefer to go one by one?

DVDSpot is by far the best cataloging site out there.

The only other place that I had them catalogued is DVDAF and as far as I know you can't export your collection from there? One of the reasons I decided to use DVDSpot is because I can export my collection from there to my PC. If there is a way to export from DVDAF then I feel like an idiot because I just wasted a lot of time.

You can use DVDAF's PDA Helper function to create a text file of your list. It is no where near as easy as DVDSpot and other sites export function but it will get the job done. Just hit the PDA Helper link in the top corner of your collection. Choose text only no subfolders and it will give you a list that you can cut & paste and once you remove the directors you can use it to import to DVDspot. see easy

Actually I just checked and the PDA Helper isn't always there (like in the All Owned w/o subfolders list) when you really want it.

In DVD spot is it possible to add more than one title at a time? Like you were able to do with Guzzlefish by checking multiple items?

Yes. I know I have done it using the import which takes a text file of upc codes or titles.

DVDSpot #1
DVDAF #2 (when my collection gets too big DVDAF won't handle it too well and will take forever to load, they need a "just view as text" option.)

For CDs I started using CDcomplete (which isn't that complete but OK). I'm still looking for something better something that has the cover art as well as the track info, version etc... I also have tons of vinyl records and old cassette tapes along with some VHS tapes. Need to find something for those too, that is why Guzzlefish was decent, it did the CDs & records (sort of). Most CD databases are either just for CDs (record collectors have to use the closest CD info) or for CDs and MP3 Downloaded junk. I am old school and haven't bought into the whole IPOD world stuff. I need something physical like a disc or a chip and the cover art to truely feel like I have something to collect. Downloading MP3s is like downloading regular files only they take tons of memory because sound files take more memory than text and graphics.

Even though I use DVDAF, I like DVDSpot better. I've just been too lazy to move my collection over.

I was using DVD Profiler until I ran out of room listing dvds using the free version. So I've decided to purchase either Profiler's full version or the Collectorz.com program. Which one?
