ET is one of those "classics" I just have no interest in seeing again. I especially don't want to see the "walkie talkie" version. Never have, and hopefully never will.

Just starting to look into this, and am confused.

For the 2002 and 2005 versions, both are widescreen? Both contain the original 1982 unaltered version? What's the difference between the 2002 and 2005 releases?

There are 3 major variations of ET:

2002 2-disc Fullscreen and 2002 2-disc Widescreen, both contain the 1982 version in anamorphic widescreen with DTS sound.

2002 3-disc limited edition, contains the 1982 version in anamorphic widescreen, without DTS sound.

2005 single disc release, does not contain the 1982 theatrical cut.
