question about syndicated/edited tv shows on dvd
i have a question about this.
it seems in part that people may be judging an episode as being edited by the length of the intro. for example, there is a short and long version of the intro for married with children, as there is for the simpsons.
it was my thought that the intro used for the episode was contingent upon the running time of the episode. rather than hold the episode to a specific length, i thought the intro used was a way of leaving the episode some degree of freedom.
am i totally wrong on this?
(i didn't think this was good for tv talk, as the edited tv/dvd thing keeps coming up here)

Are you thinking of that 'Married: With Children" review which cites that the intro is a different length to suit the new version of the song? If so, I'd point out that that is not the reason he gives for saying that the episodes are the syndicated versions.
I think that you're misunderstanding what people are saying.
