No. Mine was not in a sepreate case, but inside the box like most of Best Buy's bonus discs in a clear insert length slipcase. Was there another store that offered the bonus disc that I got and maybe the Suncoast by me got some of those in by accident? I don't really care all that much at this point, I just thought it was funny to see a year old thread that I had posted in revived.

Hello,
I know this is late, but I thought I would clear up the confusing bonus disc crap on Steamboy, in which there are actually 2 Steamboy bonus discs.
When I bought the movie when it was released, I bought the gift set, which does not come with the bonus disc, even if you buy it from Sam Goody. The regular edition was the only one with the bonus disc. On this particular bonus disc there was "The Voyage of Steamboy featurette" which can actually be found on other region dvds that are regularly 2 disc sets. This documentary is 34 minutes.
The other bonus disc that was pictured here came in a separate case and was given away for free at Sam Goody/Suncoast, with any purchase from their store while Steamboy was in Theatres. This disc has a 10 minute documentary on the making of the film and a lot of the same previews on the regular disc. It also contains the trailers for Steamboy, not found on the regular US DVD. The first 5 minutes of this documentary are actually the "Interview with Katsuhiro Otomo" on the regular DVD but then for whatever reason, the last 5 minutes are not part of the regular DVD.
Confusing, but I think people in the end would be better off buying from a different region, except the art book that comes with the US gift set is worth it in my opinion.

. Funny thing is I never got around to watching the movie in the first place. May have to give it a spin now.
