I'm going to get this and I believe that this will get the 4-disc treatment. Ridley Scott was able to push for a 3-disc Black Hawk Down, in fact I'm more inclined to believe a big multi-disc coming from him than QT.

the lack of a commentary track definitely suggests that there'll be that rumored 4-disc set after all. if Fox had scrapped the plans for it, Scott would most likely have done one for this edition.

I'll still wait. The theatrical cut was a mess, just seemed like tons of stuff was missing and I have no desire to see it again until it's re-edited.

I will be buying this on the first day of release. If an extended version comes out I probably won't buy it. I don't care about commentary tracks. If something was missing from the theatrical version I didn't notice.

Damn I wanna wait for the DC. But with DTS track, 2 hour making of, and two 45 minutes documentaries I'm thinking of getting this one also. It does suck badly that it doesn't have a Ridley commentary.

I just hope that if I decide to get this one also, that the DC won't have anything from this version [and have all new features], well except the DTS track! I want DTS on the DC!!

the DC release, if it is truly a 4-disc release, should certainly have DTS as the film will be spread out over 2 discs.. there at least won't be any excuse not to include a DTS track.

I prefer the DVD artwork over the theatrical art.

Um...The Digital Bits has been one of the several sites that has been saying that there may indeed be a 4-disc set at some point in the future. They're not just pulling it out of thin air.

it's been rumored since April. Ridley Scott has even mentioned the possibility of a 4-disc DC release in 2006. it's not like we're making these things up.

Since this is Fox, an uber edition sometime down the line is a guarantee. Hopefully with Scott's extended cut.

On a side note, since a wannabe filmmaker I know (whose favorite films of the past year include Amityville Horror, Taxi, Elektra and The Grudge) didn't like this movie, I'm guessing it's actually not that bad.

That is some damn cool artwork. Very classy and fitting to the style of the movie. Wished the King Arthur and Troy artwork was as good as that.

Something I noticed looking at the DVD at Wal-Mart this morning:

I picked up a Full Screen version just to look at the features on back. They must have used the same text for the Features because it said (Widescreen Presentation) in the features on the backs of both the Wide and Full screen ones.

As much as I want to hold out for the probable 4-discer, I think I am going to cave and pick this one up today. I don't feel like waiting until sometime next year to watch it.

You know, they have these places now where you can go in an pick out the DVD you want, but rather than buy it, you just give them $3-4 and they let you borrow it for a few days.

I'm not a big fan of renting. It's $5 to rent a movie here, i would rather just pay a little more and own it.
