Wow...interesting cover art.
Dang...I'll hold on to my original and swap out the art. That's pretty rough looking.
that's the same art used for the international poster. don't know why they flipped the image horizontally for the dvd cover. here's the french version

The closest we could get for Lebowski would be (apologies to previous posts who mentioned some of these): - The set is a beat-up duffle bag - A fake toe is inside - White Russian recipe - cancelled check for 97 cents (or whatever the milk cost) - A small rug replica - The Nixon bowling poster - "Are you a Lebowski Achiever"? mirror |
Interesting indeed, but I dig it.
That cover would really tie my collection together, man.
Im definently buying this, ive been wanting to buy this dvd but i might as well hold out and get the CE.

-Digitally Remasterd Picture -Loaded with new bonus features -An exclusive introduction to the film featuring Mortimer Young, written and directed by the Coen Brothers -30 minute making of The Big Lebowski, including interviews with the Coen Brothers |
Extras look EXTREMELY weak. The current version already has 30min of interviews.

And I enjoy the commentary, but it doesn't exactly get into the process. Barton Fink had deleted scenes (did Miller's Crossing? I'm at work and can't check). |
Not the greatest cover art ever, but it will grow on me. I will be picking this up regardless.
I actually really like the new art.

Final disc specs have arrived from Universal for The Big Lebowski: Collector's Edition. The cult classic arrives with a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Bonus materials will include an introduction by Mortimer Young (more Coen Brothers tomfoolery), "The Making Of The Big Lebowski" documentary and a gallery of photographs by actor Jeff Bridges. Retail will be $19.98. Also available for a limited time only is The Big Lebowski: Achiever's Edition Gift Set featuring the widescreen DVD, a bowling shammy towel, picture coasters with quotable lines from the movie and photo cards from Jeff Bridges' personal collection. Retail for this will be $49.98. |
That's one expensive shammy towel.
Good Lord, how utterly horrendous. Is ANYTHING new on that thing?
The most attractive feature, for me, as a fan of the film is that all-new transfer. Should make things interesting for the comparison fanatics. That alone means they have got my money already. I was originally concerned that they wouldn't give it a new transfer, so it looks like it's gonna be all good and stuff.
Boo! But the new transfer is the most important thing anyway.
I like the box....still not sure if $50 is worth it (for a shammy and coasters)
Ooooooooh, the type on the spine is facing the wrong way. That's a shame.
Damn I really like the Giftset box artwork. Much better than the new artwork on just the dvd itself. I just wonder how low it is going to be sold.
Edit...Never mind just found it on preorder at Amazon for $35. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...563853-0530418 Still might be to high considering you can get the non giftset for $14. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/redir...41&promotion=y Decisions to be made. |
