Is the Muppet movie and the Great Muppet Caper going to be re-released?

All I can ever find is the Muppets take Manhattan. I saw on amazon they have the first two Muppet movies but their out of print I guess because they start at $30! Anybody know anything about a possible re-release?

Please someone give confirmation, I'd love to sell mine at that price! I could use $100.

I can confirm that. The first 2 are out-of-print -- now owned by Disney. The 3rd one is still in print and readily available in stores for $10 or so.

As far as a re-release, you can be certain that it'll happen eventually. But I know of no firm plans to do it soon.

I hope they remaster and re-release The Muppet Movie cause the transfer is a tad of disappointment - the video is on the soft side and not as colourful as it should be.

I meant confirmation of a rerelease. A quick ebay search shows that it is a collector's market for both films now.

Ah, I misunderstood.

I can confirm that there are NO current plans for a re-release. In fact, Disney plans to be very selective and slow with their re-introduction of the Muppets into the marketplace. There was an article in the Wall Street Journal about this when Muppets Wizard of Oz was on TV... Disney is taking a very longterm approach, with the hopes of creating a rock solid franchise in the next 5-10 years.

I'm sure they'll put them out again at some point, but it isn't coming soon.
