If Looks Could Kill DVD $9?

I would imagine this is a pirate but it is mighty tempting since I don't know if the studios ever released it. If I knew it was going to be a good copy I would feel in the least bit guilty even if it was pirated since I think the studio is being a bunch of weenies for not making it more available. Does anyone know if this is legit? Was it available on DVD and it is out of print or is this another region?

Take a look at what else he's selling: Let it Be, Howard the Duck, The Monster Squad, Cool as Ice, and others. It's like a wishlist of requested titles.

Yep, it's a boot all right.

..and boots are usually in crappy quality, especially when in this case. They may be taken from rental VHS P&S/cropped garbled copies + the fact that the Looks cover is just an exact copy of the VHS copy(just look at the closed caption and warner logo on the bottom, they don't do that on their dvd covers) hints at it being just a copy of the VHS.

So I'd say screw bootleggers and wait for the real deal. I have fond memories of this film as a kid and would love to see it again. But I would'nt spend money on a boot,if I could rent a similar if not more quality legit copy..even if on VHS.

A friend of mine wasted $300 on a bootleg set of the complete Smurfs series and all the Smurf specials. Well the quality is garbage and seems to have been recorded off tv when they first aired(tracking lines imprinted into the picture,so you can't do anything about it,really dark 100th generation look, very low terrible garbled audio). He was pissed, but just could'nt wait for a legit release of the Smurfs any longer. So he wasted alot of money on very subpar bootlegs. Oh yeah not all of the dvds worked,...and some episodes would'nt play, while others would.

So yeah, bootleggers suck and are a ripoff.

Thanks for verifying it is just a bootleg. That is a pity. I'm beginning to doubt thery will ever get this to DVD.
