= = = = =

Seeing this, I was disappointed they didn't use the original cover.

Then I saw this (don't freak, these aren't pictures):
Tame Cover
Torture Cover

Those sure piqued my interest... Anyone know anything about those? Those two versions have been posted on various web retailers, but no pictures yet. I'm assuming the blue one I posted is the tame version. The torture cover--whatever it is--sounds cool!

This is the original cover:

My favourite artwork version:

Great film. In my top 10 films this year easy. This is the sort of cinema English speakers just aren't making.

Spielberg's War of the Worlds compared to this? Shit.

I've been low on cash so I had to hold off on buying this. I was going to buy it today and I saw that a R1 would be released on September 6th. And now it's set for the 20th. I have been itching to see this movie, it's not funny.

Apparently, Japan is getting a rerelease too.

No DTS-ES on the US discs?

I have the UK Region 0 2 disc set and there's also the 2 disc Korean Region 3 set and of course the 3 disc special edition.

Multiregion DVD? There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

And I love it

R1 releases of Korean films can be terribly mediocre... i'll stick with my R3 LE.

The R2 UK certainly isn't lacking in features for a decent price. What I'm wondering about is -- given the identical (from what I've read) Tartan R1/R2 releases of Tale of Two Sisters, are they going the same route with STGP and Old Boy -- if so, I'll definitely be keeping the ones I already have.

SGTP: R1 doesn't look to be a Tartan release, but a release from Koch Vision Entertainment.

Mini Review

Pretty good little flick -- but pretty predictable as well. There was only one heart-stopping scene that would make me ever consider watching it again.

Considering the crazy mixture of genres and the allegorical ending, if there is one word that shoudn't be used to describe this film it's "predictable".

I disagree. It was a predicatable mess. We discussed that before, though.

Yup! And I gave you an interpretation of the ending which was far from predictable.

So I guess we'll just have to disagree on this one.

I bought this on a lark a while back. It was actually a lot of fun and in no way predictable. I really wasn't expecting the ending we got.

Based on the
Spoiler:
weird noises the drunk exec made the first time he appeared on screen,
I thought the ending was to be expected.

But getting there was all the fun, and
Spoiler:
it made the main character much easier to sympathize with.

For me, it's not so much about the ending as how we got there... and boy, what a ride! Fun, fun, fun!

Torture Cover Art:

Hmm... I'm not crazy about either cover. I'll probably get this one though.
