Universal has announced R-rated and NC-17 rated editions of Inside Deep Throat, which examines the politics and the payoffs, the porn stars and persecution of the cultural phenomenon that still remains highly controversial today. The documentary (from famous Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer) will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. The extras for the NC-17 edition are listed below. The R-rated disc will include no extra material to speak of.

I missed this in theaters,but it does look very interesting and something to pick up.
Though those renting or buying the R version should be ashamed of themselves,since it's not even the theatrical version in this case

but what's interesting it that I bet the only difference between the R and the unrated version will be the exclusion of just one scene - you know... f-e-l-l-a-t-i-o. The rest of the movie is relatively tame for a film about Linda Lovelace and the porn industry.

I know and hopefully the R rated version has a notice that it is 'edited' and that it is not the version originally shown theatrically.
But they probably won't do that,but hopefully people will figure it out on their own. In fact,go to Wal-Mart and other stores that ban NC-17 films and ask "Do you have the theatrical version of Inside Deep Throat?".

While only one thing may be cut in the R version of the film. I find it amusing how the rating reasons area usually so short for NC-17 films,while so long for the R rated versions.
