Do you mean updating your online collection? If so, it works fine for me. If you mean submitting a new addition or update to a single dvd, I don't know about that.

MEJHarrison 06-24-05 12:12 PM

First of all, these questions should be posted on the DVDProfiler forums. You'll be much better responses there.

They're still there. Go to the Tool menu, pick Options, Display tab and choose what you want under the DVD Review section. It sounds like you want the Detailed option with everything checked.

If you're trying to contribute a profile, they've added a new feature. You now have to verify your email before you can contribute profiles. The verification is good for a full year. Visit their site and go to the My Profiler secion to verify your email.

OldBoy 06-25-05 07:54 PM

it's the "Refresh DVD profiles and images"...it happens when processing the profile. anyone else get "an error occurred while processing..."?

Thunderball 06-26-05 09:38 AM

Excellent.

The only beef I have with a premium membership, is I wish they'd automatically say "hey, updates available"

I disagree - I hate apps that take my bandwidth up automatically checking for updates when I don't care. If I want an update I'd like to check myself, given an easy means to do so, like this program provides. :eyebrow:

Random 06-26-05 04:44 PM

cool its like they like to release new stuff in stealth

To each his own. I like having the little box to check "auto check for program updates". As for "wasting bandwidth", what are you on, hamster powered internet?

Updates to Profiler are so infrequent, an email to all registered users would be more than sufficient.

Dabaomb 06-26-05 10:09 PM

I d/l'ed mine a few days ago

MasterofDVD 06-26-05 10:15 PM

I too think they should let paying customers know about these downloads in some fashion. I look forward to updates but they do a piss poor job informing those who enjoy and use their program.

I had this problem until I updated.

No, I have plenty. But, my corporate hat is hard to take off. I'm used to managing thousands of PC's that have a half dozen of these little "am I current?" gremlins contantly polling home, with all sorts of additional support issues tied to either preventing or automating subsequent upgrades. Many would be surprised at the variety of issues such a minor feature can cause.

Intervocative has presumably done the math, and I would guess that they do not want thousands (or more) of meaningless hits bombarding their servers on a regular basis.

Agreed.

danwiz 06-27-05 07:34 PM

Are you people all aware that this is only a Beta Version??? Intervocative is calling it "Version 2.4.0 Beta Build 868 Now Available" in their forum, which is open to Premium Registrants only. I'll pass on Beta Versions. As I seem to recall, they DO send out an e-mail to Registered Premium Users when they release a new FINAL VERSION. Could be wrong on this, but it SEEMS like I got an e-mail from them last time.

RoboDad 06-27-05 07:50 PM

Actually, it is now listed as a released version (click on the downloads link from the main page, or read the news headline from June 21st), and the notes for the beta version indicate that 2.4.1 is the next beta coming.

Ummm...No. This is release. ;)

Every time there is a new general release, the next time I refresh profiles or connect to the site in a similar manner, it notifies me that I am out of date. With this level of notification as a non-paying user I downloaded the release the day after it was available. I don't see what all the hubbub about notification is about.

I was thinking the same thing. I tried to add a couple discs and it didn't work giving me an error about different versions. I visit the site and within 3 minutes I am on the new version adding my new discs. The program"told me" it was out of date enough for me to take care of it.

Mr. Cinema 07-01-05 09:11 PM

2 movies I can't add yet.

#1. In Good Company is still only listed as Full Screen.
#2. The Aviator ('05)

Does it normally take them this long to add certain movies?

I have it in mine. :hscratch:

onebyone 07-01-05 10:44 PM

I have lots of horror releases that haven't been added yet. I hope this is a temporary backlog and they will be more current soon.

danwiz 07-02-05 05:17 AM

danwiz says thank you for clarifying that this is not a beta version. I downloaded and installed it. Right offhand I don't see many differences, guess I'd best go back to page 1 of this post and read that list of changes and see if there is anything which helps me out with my collection statistics.

Thanks again guys!

I have no problem adding either of these. Are you entering them by UPC? The UPCs for these two are:

2519258332
8539389392

Did you let the program connect to the server to download new profiles? That usually takes a few minutes.

Kimiakane 07-02-05 10:15 PM

This is great news!
