My Monty Python's Flying Circus box is probably the most expensive thing, the Buster Keaton set would be but I got that as a gift.

Single-disc MSRP? Eraserhead
Multi-disc MSRP? The "Ultimate Disney" box set, I think it was between $150 and $200 if I remember.

"Market value"? Hard Boiled or Sid & Nancy or Playtime or one of my other OOP Criterions.

For a single film, it might be the Canadian box for Amelie, for which I paid $57.58 CDN. I had a $10 CDN coupon, but that just barely covered shipping, so it was a wash.

Probably the R2 DTS version of Blade. With shipping costs from Japan, it was well over $50 at the time. It's gone down since. Laserdiscs used to be so much more expensive.

#1 - The Japanese Gift Box Limited Edition Set of "Hero" for $105.66 (for a picture see this thread http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=384544)

#2 Band of Brothers - $80.55
#3 The Sopranos - Complete First Season - $70.39
#4 Brazil - Criterion Coll - $54.31
All prices include shipping and handling - Note where I am, so the shipping on the Japanese "Hero" was less than anything else, did not contribute significantly to the price.

Hmm...not sure. Doubt it's something outrageous. Probably some TV season set like Buffy for $50.

Going by MSRP it's Space 1999: Mega Set at around $200.

I don't track price paid but I suspect going by that it's probably Band of Brothers or one of the old Twilight Zone sets (in the $80 - $90 range).

Going by what I could get for selling them it might be Davey and Goliath v2 which is going for ~$130 on Amazon Of course that's before the new set just came out last week so that might be different now, I don't know which if any of the eps overlap.

My AnimEigo boxset(9 discs) of Super Dimension Fortress Macross $250 .
Same here. JBDomain, any issues with small cracks around the DVD spindle holes with your set? I have a few on a handful of discs and I have heard of this issue from others as well.

Is this the most you've paid for a DVD? If so, it would be either:

$70 + 4 discs in trade - This is Spinal Tap: CC
$80 (I think) - Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol. 1

If it's the most expensive on the secondary market, it'd have to be:

Tool: Salival (which sells on ebay up to about $250 sometimes)
Wrong Men & Notorious Women: CC Box Set (which goes on ebay for about $150-180)

You got ripped off. It can be found for under $50 frequently. I bought it for $28 last year and then sold it for $40.

Actual cost, I'm not sure.

Getting ripped off: My So-Called Life boxset with Lunch Box

Got triple charged for it from ANother Universe, was able to get one charge back so I still ended up paying about 225 or so after it was all said and done.

Is there an edition of this that I don't know about? The only version I can think about is about $20 CND.

My most expensive is probably the Seinfeld Re-Gift Set.
