All I need is DTS and the trailers and I'll be a happy camper.

Yay.

Looks great. Except they didn't keep the deleted scenes from the initial release, most of which should have remained in the film. Among them was a great conversation between Picard and Data. Classic Trek. Focus on characters. So that's disappointing.
Nemesis itself was okay, but for a film that was supposed to close out the Next Generation story, it was nothing special. The ending was a total downer, and would not have inspired me to return for another viewing had I seen it in the theater. I'm not surprised Maid in Manhattan beat it at the box office. Lackluster conclusion to a great show. --THX |
The trailers are the best news I've heard yet.

Once again, Paramount has changed the packaging on the Star Trek SE's - like no more inserts or TMP with gold packaging. This time, Nemesis comes in one of those cheap dual disc cases where one stacks on the other. Did anyone get a proper Amaray dual case??

No, but at least they're been consistent with the width and, outside of TMP, the cover designs. I guess that shows that they sort of care about the neurotic types (like me).

"We're going to wait until tomorrow to post my DVD review of Paramount's 2-disc Star Trek: Nemesis - Special Collector's Edition, which streets today. What you need to right now (before you rush out to buy it this morning) is that it includes EVERYTHING that the previous DVD release had extras-wise, plus a lot more. It also improves upon the previous DVD release's already great video and audio quality." (bolding is mine) That would seem to indicate that they kept the original deleted scenes. |
According to the DVD Talk review, it ports EVERYTHING over from the original release.

is $14.99 the best B&M price out there now? i only got a chance to go to BB and saw it there for that much; haven't been able to hit the other retailers yet.
|
$14.99 has been the best price ive seen at B&M stores. Hopefully Fry's will do their $12 or less on it this week so i can go get my price match refund.

Wal-Mart is the place. Mine had it for $13.84. |
Fry's had it for $14.99 for some reason this time. Not the usual $12.99. Still, $14.99 isn't too bad.

$14.99 at Circuit City

Confirmed--every single solitary extra on the original DVD made the move over, even down to Rick Berman's introduction to the deleted scenes and all of the photos from the photo gallery.

Man, does the case suck ass. I transfered it to a proper double alpha as soon as I got home.
|
Does anyone have an e-mail address or phone number for Paramount Home Entertaiment's customer service? I just received a replacement order for this dvd and disc 1 is cracked.
|
Hey EvlAsh,
I've been trying for months now to contact Paramount about a defective Star Trek disc. I've called their Home Entertainment department, where they will connect you to Customer Service, but it only goes to a voice mail telling you to leave a message. I've done that three times and they never call back. If somehow you find a way, please let me know. |
Oh, and the number is 323 956 5000. Hope it works for you.
|
Thanks cranberryjuicer.
