If Buena Vista was releasing War, Inc. then that'd be a possibility, but studios never think like that when it comes to non-blockbusters at other studios.

Apparently there is a new release coming on 9/15/09. On amazon.com (link), the specs show 2 discs with Digital Copy. I wonder if it is an anamorphic upgrade?

I wonder if they'd really have the stones to re-release the same non-anamorphic disc -- by itself, not including the High Fidelity combo -- with a Digital Copy that might, in effect, best the DVD.

This is one of my hopefuls for blu-ray. The first generation non-anamorphic disc just doesn't do this movie justice. I wouldn't even bother with an SE, I'll wait for the BD.

I don't have this on DVD. It gets a lot of play on cable and I guess that's why I never got on DVD. I will someday. I loved Joan Cusack's character.

I doubt it. Unless I hear otherwise, I'd assume that this is the same disc.

I'm inclined to wait for the eventual Blu-Ray release to get a decent version of this title.

If the suits at Buena Vista were smart, the Blu-ray of Grosse Pointe Blank would be released when Hot Tub Time Machine comes out in theaters next February.

And I guess you could lump High Fidelity with that as well, since Hot Tub Time Machine is directed by Steve Pink who wrote the screenplays for Pointe and Fidelity.

I'd love a new DVD (or Blu-ray) of Grosse Point or High Fidelity. Grosse looks really bad.

I put a Facebook group together demanding a better GPB DVD. Join up. Maybe if we get a million members we can pressure Disney into releasing an SE or something. Search Facebook for the group 1,000,000 People Want a Better Grosse Pointe Blank DVD. I can't post the URL because I haven't made enough posts yet.
