Pulp Fiction - sneaky remastering and packaging changes
I recently re-purchased the Pulp Fiction 2-disk Collector's Edition as my original Disc 1, which I purchased on the initial day of release, was starting to crack near the centre ring.
I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 changes from my previous edition:
In both cases, these are the Canadian R1 editions I am referring to, but I would assume this would also apply to the US releases so would be interested to hear if any of you can confirm this

- Change of disc trays inside the package from that horrible bubbly crap to proper plastic trays

- Addition of a Jack Rabbit Slim's menu inside the case

- Shifting of the layer change position. It used to interrupt Christopher Walken's speech to the young Butch. It's now slightly earlier, during a black screen.

That layer change has always bothered me on the US release that I picked up on release week. Can anyone else confirm that there has been a change in the US release? For some reason my Panasonic RP-91 noticeably chokes on this change right in the middle of his speech.

The Jack Rabbit Slim's menu was only missing in Canada.
And the shoddy packaging was also a Canada-only thing.
I avoided it at the time and ordered from the US.
The remastering would have me concerned however. Even though the layer-change was placed elsewhere - Alliance Atlantis is known for screwing up DVD transfers. Maybe someone can do a comparison between the new Canadian "re-release" and the current US edition.
