I got an email from the advertising agency that Buena Vista closed down the TV spot site a few hours after they put it up. They asked me to remove the post with the link until further notice, so there you go.

edit: Sorry guys, it's been years since I've seen the Muppet Show, despite my love for the movies and my love for the show (in distant memories of course). I apologize, Walter.

i don't think everything should be in widescreen...i think most people were under the impression this was broadcast WS in HD (however it was not) so there was some debate on what the OAR was.

i have heard that Kermit's line of
What the Hell is that
has been cut from the dvd
anybody?
This saddens me...not because i need to hear Kermit swear, but one of the things Disney said they were going to do was bring some adult humor back into the mix...i thought they achieved a bit of that with this movie (though still not the best by far). It's hard to believe in a day and age of Shrek that Disney would do that. Now i know dreamworks and Disney are different things, but I think Shrek showed that parents weren't all up in arms over mild profanity. I also think it would be different coming from mickey or donald...but this isn't Disney, its henson.
just my rant, sure you guys have some things to say on the matter.

I watched the DVD the other night and the new 20 minutes of stuff don't add up to much except a handful of funny jokes, and a few extended scenes. None of which add much to the overall story, but the extended version of the film is much more fluid than the broadcast TV version.

so everyone laughed at the movie (but no one likes it) Huh...
I hope you enjoy it this time Kingtopher. I didn't expect everyone to love this movie. But i still think Disney did a good thing by reintroducing the muppets in a television movie. They kept the budget low, and gave everyone a chance to see it for free on broadcast television. I hope Disney puts these charachters back into the hearts of a new generation.
Its nice to see them in something other than a pizza hut commercial.
anyone report on if the line i mentioned in my previous post has been cut...can anyone compare their DVR copy.

I completely agree with you kingtopher. How did someone involved in the production not notice that the lead actress was completely awful? I'm talking high school produciton of Wizard of Oz awful. Ashanti's pitifully acted reactions to the Muppet hijinx would have been laughable if it were just a commercial or something, but in a project with so much potential, it's just sad. I know she sells a lot of records and all, but can't the Disney brass recognize that in the long run, putting a rotten no-talent actress at the forefront of a Muppet movie will just cheapen the franchise and they'll have fewer viewers in the long run. This coming from someone who really enjoyed It's A Very Muppet Christmas. On a positive note, there were some very funny moments that made the purchase worth it to me. Oh yeah, what was up with the Frank Oz cheap shot?
