Is Friday the 13th the Series coming to dvd?

I would like to see Friday the 13th the Series on dvd. It is the Canadian tv show about an antique dealer who sells his soul and in exchange has to sell cursed antiques. After he dies, his relatives inherit the shop. They find out about this and spend their time getting the antiques back.

Is this coming out on dvd?

Thanks.

I'm also waiting for this and would get it the very day it would be released. But only with the origional cast, I didn't care for the later shows with cast replacements. As for when it would come out, I have no idea. But i'm hoping for it

If you put the title of what you're looking for in the title of your thread, you're likely to get a lot more response. A lot of people hate vague thread titles and won't even click into them to see what they're about.

This is on my top 4 TV series to get on DVD.

1) Wild Wild West
2) Batman
3) Kolchak, The Night Stalker
4) Friday The 13th The Series

I really like the ambiguous thread title. More views = better thread.

naitram 05-15-05 10:24 PM

I was duped into clicking this twice today *shakes fist*!

Legolas 05-15-05 11:11 PM

So this has nothing to do with Jason or Crystal Lake?

Gizmo 05-15-05 11:26 PM

The show is pretty decent. Has nothing to do with Jason.

I really like this show, it's been on a few Canadian TV channels the last couple of years and I taped a few episodes, I don't know if i'd buy it on DVD but I definitly hope it comes soon and with a load of special features.

I would LOVE for this show to make its way onto DVD - even barebones editions would suit me well. I used to love watching this show late on Sunday nights.

Geofferson 05-16-05 11:16 AM

I watched this show all the time when it was on...would love to see it on DVD.

Ditto. This is one of the series that I have been waiting to show up on DVD for quite a while.

I was hoping that when the Friday the 13th (movies) set came out they would release it hoping to cash in on the name. Of course they didn't :(

We got Forever Knight... why can't they put out Ft13: the Series??

klandersen 05-16-05 01:44 PM

I"d like to see this come out plus the "Fredies Nightmares" TV Series

cinephan 05-16-05 01:46 PM

The first season of this show, when they were concentrating on finding the cursed items sold from the store, were great. After that, it started sliding downhill.

cajun_junky 05-16-05 07:34 PM

Since I am such a huge Friday the 13th fan, it is hard to believe that I never watched the tv show.

The only thing in common between the movies and the show is the name. Otherwise, there is no relationship between them at all.

onebyone 05-16-05 08:33 PM

This is one of my favorite shows. I would love a DVD release of this. I used to have them all on tape but those got destroyed in a move and now I got...nothing.

The Monkees 05-16-05 09:09 PM

It's odd, because I was about to post this very thread today! I'm reading "Making Friday the 13th" and just finished reading about the series. They used to show it on Sci-Fi but no longer do so. I never knew what the series was about seeing how I was three when the show permiered. But I really think it sounds good and would like to see the series. I would buy season sets!

The show was produced by Sean S. Cunningham (scumbag that he is) I believe, so he used the name for genre appeal.

I personally like the show better than the movies.

The TV show was actually better than the movies IMO.

Friday the 13th: The Series DVD?

I'm kinda new to this site, so I don't know if this was ever posted. But will the televison series: Friday the 13th: The Series ever see the light of day on DVD?

With so many old television shows making it to DVD now, some that really shouldn't, I'm surprised that this one hasn't yet. I know Tales from the Crypt just recently started, but any news on the Friday series?

speedy1961 11-30-05 07:08 AM

None that I'm aware of but the best resource for this question would be TVSHOWSONDVD.com.

I'm sure that if there is enough interest, the series will come out.

Jediturtle 11-30-05 07:51 AM

I heard rumors around the time the F13 movie box set was coming out, but nothing was ever confirmed and I haven't heard anything since. I would pay very good money for this series...loved it!
