Gonna check this out. Always interested in seeing the performance that robbed Tom Cruise of his well deserved Oscar.

Question (that wasn't clearly given in your comment):

Have you seen MLF (one of the single greatest performances of all time - considered -not by all-, but by many people)?

No, I have not. But I have heard from many people, in my circle, that Tom Cruise was robbed. We shall see.

That darn "circle" again.

If you can get to the video store or whatever -fast, you should see MLF very soon. It's a great, great film. Much better than that In America tripe Sheridan gave us.

And I think you got your dates mixed up. Cruise was robbed at the Oscars ten years after he got his nod for BONFOJ.

---------

Oh - back to the dvd: Can't wait to hear more about this release.

Tripe? Do you have a "circle" excuse too?

But I agree about My Left Foot and Daniel Day-Lewis's performance, he didn't "steal" anything from Cruise, he absolutely deserved the award.

It's a Miramax film that was released on dvd by HBO in a snapper. Is this release going to be by Miramax?

If Cruise would have won the Oscar that year, Daniel Day-Lewis would not only have been robbed, he would have been beaten & raped too!

Hopefully it should be. The Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward movie "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge" is Miramax that was released by HBO in a snapper. Now you can get it in a keep-case by Miramax. So it looks like they're getting all their old titles back.

No circle that includes me. I thought the film was boring and long (although I don't even think it was over 2 hours). Sheridan has done better. I was excited to see a film loosely based on Sheridan's life, but I was disappointed. Morton only had one good scene and the screenplay didn't deserve the acclaim. Too many long drawn out scenes (with the only good scene being the family at the fair).

But hey - that's just my opinion, man.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment will release My Left Foot: Collector's Edition on August 16th. The acclaimed film, starring Daniel Day Lewis, will feature a 1.85 anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks, "The Real Christy Brown" and "An Inspirational Journey: The Making of My Left Foot" featurettes and a still gallery.

Artwork is like the cool SEs that Miramax released recently with English Patient and Rounders, but it's pretty skimpy on extras. Would have liked a more definitive anniversary release, but well worth a watch.
