Disney would probably release wave 3 together with Howl's Moving Castle DVD when it hits the street some time in the future (has not been anounced yet).

I'd like a nice Hong Kong release of Howl's Moving Castle to tide me over.

From nausicaa.net:
January 25, 2005 Where's the R1 "Totoro" DVD?
QUESTION: Why was My Neighbor Totoro replaced by The Cat Returns in the February 22nd release line up that includes Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind and Porco Rosso?
ANSWER: The DVD for My Neighbor Totoro was replaced by The Cat Returns, due to technical problems with the DVD transfer. BVHE wanted to make certain to put out the best quality product, so delaying Totoro made the most sense.

QUESTION: When will My Neighbor Totoro be released by Disney?
ANSWER: No Date set yet, but soon.

Our thanks to Rick Rhoades of Disney for providing the answers.

That is bizarre that they would choose those two Takahata movies. I wonder if anyone at Disney has actually seen Pom Poko yet. Do they know how prominently certain raccoon parts are featured? I'd figure Whisper of the Heart would be the next logical one to do considering they already did the Cat Returns.

I wondered about that when I watched my imported DVD. The movie can't be edited either because
Spoiler:
the power of their balls are integral to the plot

Well, Holmes, it appears that even on that page there are movies which do not yet have R1 DVD release dates--which I'm guessing logboy was aware without checking IMDB:

Whisper of the Heart
Only Yesterday
I Can Hear the Sea (not a theatrical release, but long enough for a DVD)

Really, it would have been logical to do it the other way around, since The Cat Returns is based on Whisper of the Heart.
