Any good "High Tension" dvds already out?

I was wondering if there are any good High Tension/Haute Tension/Switchblade Romance dvds already on the market with the uncut version of the film, original audio, english subs, widescreen, and 5.1? Preferably all region and with extras. I was looking at ebay but wasn't sure if most were bootlegs or not. Any help would be appreciated.

One of the dvds I was looking at

There is an uncut all-region Thai release but it's PAL and not much for extras, except for a trailer. There's the all-region NTSC Korean version but it's cut.

Of course, the good one to get is the R3 for the uncut version... at least until the R1 gets released and no telling if it'll be the uncut or R-rated upcoming theatrical release.

The link you have is probably a boot because that's the cover of the Thai release... and converted over to NTSC.

I'd say go with the U.K release. I imported when it came out. It's uncut and has subs and some extras.

I agree, there is a very good R2 dvd for this with extras you and everything, but it goes by the name Switchblade Romance. It looks like this , but if you need all region, then I guess that isn't helpful.

That's the version I got recently and it's anamorphic, original french audio with english subtitles and DTS. Has 1 trailer as an extra and about 30 minutes in interviews with the two main actresses. Region 3 though.

Great movie. considering it's getting cut in America I went ahead and got this version assuming that an uncut dvd version won't find it's way in Region 1 land.

I think I may do the UK version, wouldn't it be cheaper to get it from Amazon UK? I'm not too good on the coversions so I don't know. If anyone can tell me the bottom line cheapest for movie and shipping that'd be awesome.

Actually, they rereleased Haute Tension in Korea as a Special Edition, and included the uncut version this time.

Really? Didn't know that! Any websites here in states that carry it? The ones I usually traffic only have the cut version.

This is just speculation, but I imagine LION'S GATE will release an uncut version on DVD... It's just R-Rated in theaters because NC-17 = NO MONEY.

Lions Gate is exactly the reason why people should look elsewhere for this film on DVD. given their recent history, i wouldnt hold my breath for an uncut DVD.

And the US version is going to be released Cut AND dubbed, so the chances of this DVD being great, especially from Lion's Gate, aren't high. I didn't want to wait and take my chances.

another vote for the UK release. it has all the extras from the French 2 Disc (which I also have), as well as an audio commentary in english with Alexandre Aja, and Cecile De France. it's also, as other posters have mentioned, uncut and subtitled (extras and feature)

I asked Lions Gate this on their forum. I doubt it will get a reply, but it does'nt hurt to try.

But given their track record with uncut releases. I would say the chances are very slim when you look at it.

The majority of the uncut dvds they have released themselves were released uncut theatrically(cut versions were created for Wal-Mart,Blockbuster etc). These titles include Bully and Vulgar.

Only Eves Bayou and Monsters Ball were rereleased later on in unrated versions. They were R rated theatrically.

None of their horror titles have been released uncut/unrated at all!!

I sure hope they release High Tension uncut and undubbed immediately along side the R version. But given LG track record, that may be highly unlikely

Thanks for all the info. I really want to get that Region 2 one. I did mention this above but by the time I added it, several posts had been made: where is the cheapest place to get his? I wasn't sure whether the link provided was the cheapest, or Amazon, ebay, or some other retailer. Any thoughts?

I got mine from amazon uk, as it wasn't at Xploited inc. at the time. With s/h, it came to about $32.00 shipped. With s.h, it is $32.95 at Xpoited and will probably be close to that at Diabolik. For the quicker shipping, I would go with Xploited or diabolik. Both are very reputable and have been nothing but great to deal with.

Ok cool. I am going to try to get this new on Ebay. I was wondering if anyone who has the UK version could check the official runtime so I can make sure it's uncut. Also, what is the EAN on the disc?

Finally, is this one legit? This is not the one I am going to buy I was just wondering...
