You can forget about TZ, Harry And The Hendersons, and whichever other ones are WB films as they DO NOT license their films out anymore. And I believe Quick Change is coming from someone.

Pee-Wee Show is already out on DVD

MGM has a pretty nice transfer of Night of the Comet prepped and ready to go. If you want a sneak peek, it's in fairly heavy rotation on HDNet Movies.

Anchor Bay used to release excellent Spaghetti Westerns. Except the Hellbenders, I see no more future titles of SW by Anchor Bay. There are still plenty of titles out there worthy enough. My wish: Sartana series: Sartana, I am Sartana your angel of Death, Have a Good Funeral Sartana will pay, Light the fuse Sartana is Coming, and Saratan's here trade your pistol for a coffin.
All those titles have been released in other regions, but no worthy extras. I'm sure if AB can release them with good extras, US SW fans will certainly buy. More list: Blood at Sundown, 100 Rifles. |

I've been wanting to see Rapa Nui for a long time. |
Speaking of westerns, I wish someone would release "Red Sun" on DVD. I saw this in the theater back in 1971. Stars Charles Bronson, Toshiro Mifune and Ursula Andress. Excellent mix of western and samurai clashing cultures.

Late for Dinner (with Peter Berg and Marcia Gay Harden). Get this on dvd, damnit!!
I also second Wrestling Earnest Hemingway, which is not only my favorite movie that's not on dvd yet, but my top 5 all-time favorites (which, as always, is subject to change at any given notice, and also depending on my mood). |

Freakylinks http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247095/ QUOTE] I loved this show. I've also been hoping that one day it will be released. [QUOTE=SlingshotBandit]Late for Dinner (with Peter Berg and Marcia Gay Harden). Get this on dvd, damnit!! QUOTE] That's a great movie. I was rewatching my tape of it a few months ago. |
Well here is who more than likely controls your requests, so please direct them the requst, remember ONLY fox sublicense to ANchor Bay
[ The Savage Innocents = Paramount Emperor of The North =fox Super Fuzz - anchor bay originally announced it, but then they dropped it. Wrestling Ernest Hemingway = WARNER Under The Rainbow = WARNER Hot Stuff = COLUMBIA Quick Change = WARNER Fatso = Fox, and Anchor Bay did license it The Van = FOX Convoy = Anchor Bay original licensed it, not sure if they still have the rights Safe Men = NEW LINE Vibes - COLUMBIA Twilight Zone: The Movie = WARNER The Legend of Billie Jean = COILUMBIA/SONY Harry and the Hendersons= MCA The Earthling = MGM Fast Getaway = Cinetel pic, so I assume either Sony or Platinum The Experts = PARAMOUNT Electric Dreams = WARNER Prime Risk = MGM The Night Before = LIONS GATE Night of the Comet= MGM It Takes Two = MGM Rapa Nui = WARNER YOR = COLUMBIA WITHOUT WARNING - MGM LATE FOR DINNER = NEW LINE/WARNER PERFECT WEAPON - PARAMOUNT PULSE = COLUMBIA CORVETTE SUMMER = WARNER DEADLY EYES = WARNER RESURRECTED = LIONS GATE BOOGENS = PARAMOUNT BLACK BELT JONES = WARNER KIDCO = FOX, sow rite to Anchor Bay WIZARD = MCA GLEAMING THE CUBE = MGM so please email those studios to put these classics out on DVD |
Don't forget:
The Naked Prey Going Berserk Jekyll and Hyde...Together Again |
Also we need them to get their asses in gear and finally release
The Burning on dvd in it's uncut glory(they released a gorgeous restored print years ago on VHS through amazon). http://imdb.com/title/tt0082118/ |
Julie, yeah I agree, that vhs tape of THE BURNING was beautiful and UNCUT (I remember arguing with a bunch of DVD fans at a horror board, who somehow prefered a semi-uncut DVD from Germany which was dark and ugly, over the MGM vhs which was uncut and watchable, just because it was a vhs, they prefered a unwatchable cut DVD! oh well!)
|
Yeah,I caught the MGM print when it aired on Flix back when the VHS was released and was blown away!!
Since previouslly I had only seen the film via a very crappy overpriced bootleg that wasn't even fully uncut!! It was a real bad hack job of a composite, splicing in the 'uncut' bits to the R rated print. Yet since it was done on a VCR,you had those blurry color lines durring every splice(from pause/play),the 'uncut' bits were of even worse quality(impossible to make out.. diseased orange toned!) than the R print(which was still horrible in the 100th generation league!). It was based on that experiance with a bootleg that claimed to have "B+" picture and sound quality(the sound was impossibly low and garbled!) that I swore off bootlegs. You just can not trust the bastards at all!! I can only imagine the horror of being a genre fan before dvd and wide availability of quality presentations of films! Oh and I have to wonder where they got their "R rated print" of the film? Since I found one for rental, and while not up to par with the MGM print. It was still watchable with decent audio. Not bad for a 20 year old used rental that may have been played a few times over! But the MGM print is just amazing, since the film really came alive. I noticed so much in the audio that was garbled and not noticeable on the previous prints and it really enhanced the atmosphere. + the MGM print actually has color and is vibrant! So in my opinion,if you can't find the MGM print. The R rated VHS rental is the next best option. I'd rather watch that, than another shitty incomplete hack job of a bootleg,or crap quality 'official international' release that still is not complete, nor offers decent audio and picture! But if anyone knows when Flix/Encore networks may air The Burning again(I don't watch much tv,so I don't keep up on this),please let me know. I plan on recording it,since I should have done that the first time around! It is one of the best camp slasher films ever made in my honest opinion and damn creepy!! A dvd release can not come soon enough. So either Anchorbay or MGM better get their asses in gear and release it. It is long overdo for a quality dvd presentation. |
But Julie, the bad news is now that Sony acquired MGM, THE BURNING, wnich would have been a perfect candidate for midnight movies (I think even in a chat with a MGM rep, stated they planned on releasing it as such) is now scrapped??
|
We will see Salam, since this article gives me alittle ray of hope...if Sony does'nt mess up that is..... http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...highlight=sony

Just found out Fatso is being released in July by Anchor Bay. Yippee!
|
What I'd really like to have Anchor Bay release to DVD is the miniseries "Wild Palms."
They released it to VHS a few years ago, but no DVD. :( |
I would like to see Little Darlings.
