Help Save MGM's "Midnite Movies" Series
Normally, I don't support online petitions, because nine times out of ten, they're a waste of time. However, I came across one today that just may work.
As most of you know, MGM was recently bought out by Sony, and many horror DVD fans are worried that Sony will give MGM's extensive catalog poor treatment when it comes time for them to release films from it on DVD. One line in particular that may be in trouble is MGM's Midnite Movies line. A batch slated for release in March has been bumped to an undetermined release date later this year. No doubt, this has been caused by the disruption of the Sony/MGM buyout.

I want the continued support of MGM's horror/sci-fi catalog in this series, as well as regular releases. If you've enjoyed MGM's Midnite Movies line, please take the time to sign this petition. Even if you've never picked up one of the Midnite Movies and are just a regular horror/sci-fi DVD fan, show your support of further releases by signing.
Columbia listened to fan feedback in regard to Happy Birthday to Me's DVD artwork...it was too late to change the cover, but they did include an insert with the original artwork...Chances are, with enough signatures, they'll see that the Midnite Movies line is profitable and popular among genre fans.
Anyway, figured I'd pass this link along.
Thanks in advance to those who sign it.

signed up. just bought a few last week (midnight double features) when i saw best buy was raising the prices instore (from $9.99 to $10.99). on this trip i picked up some of the vincent price df's and people/land that time forgot. it would be a shame if future generations were deprived of these. they have really nice transfers and some bonus features (trailers etc) as well. if you haven't checked any of them out now is the time.

I was so starstruck I was speechless, but he quickly put us both at ease. I saw him again years later in a one-man show as Oscar Wilde. He was a national treasure, and I mourn his loss. But as long as we have his performances--Edward Lionheart, Prince Prospero, Roderick Usher--he's still with us.

Just a quick thought before everyone throws tomatoes and rotten corn on me...
Do you think Sony will actually read these petitions? I say everyone should email Sony, in addition to the online thingy.
Talk to the people directly.

Conjure Wife Conjure Wife
There are some good titles there. Some of them (BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW, CONQUERER WORM [aka WITCHFINDER GENERAL]) are out in R2 in pretty decent SE's. I would really like to see a good print of BURN, WITCH, BURN, since the only DVD of this is in a boxed set in the UK, and it is a lousy transfer; I have seen bootlegs taken off TCM that are better than this turkey (the dvd, not the movie itself, which is based on Fritz Leiber's classic novel Conjure Wife).
Some titles I wish they would bring out are Roger Vadim's Blood and Roses and an atmospheric vampire film called The Hand of Night , aka Beast of Morocco .
