Well, wire me $400 and I will. ;) I know, I desperately want DTS, but justifying the purchase now would be difficult. I prematurely bought my current system. I didn't do enough research and bought an underpowered system as well. 230 Watts total power. :(

$400? Heck I'd need at least $1,500 so I'm sticking with my DD5.1 pre-amp for now. :)

Question...on a 6.1 system, do you have to have the rear center channel? I don't have a location for the speaker...unless you know some way to attach a speaker to a window.

I poked around the Onkyo website and found out that the HT-S770 indeed has DTS, as well as DD EX and Dolby Prologic II. Pretty much all the new receivers in the market has those features now.

You don't have to use the rear center. Not all DVDs have DD EX or DTS ES encoded anyway unless you force your receiver to output in 6.1. If your rear is a window, you can put the rear speaker on the floor, or put it there whenever you watch a DD EX or DTS ES encoded disc.

Well, just below that window is my bed. I have my two current rear speakers mounted on the wall on either side of said window.

Perhaps stick the center speaker under your bed then :)

It's not an optimal position, but it's probably better than none (which is still fine as a 5.1 setup).

No Doube-Dip for me. I have watched my 2 disk version many times and have enjoyed it very much. No reason to buy another.

They should have released this 3 disk version instead of the original 2 disk version the 1st time around. My $$$ will stay in my pocket.

I bought my JVC refurbished surround system 2 years ago and it has had no problems since then. Saved me about $150 buying it refurbed.

This DVD will have an audiocomentary with Scott and Crowe.

The release date will change.

I've been thinking of how to get an HT system setup in my living room, we still haven't bought one yet. I've been interested in one of the Onkyo ones but the speaker setup has me confused. Right behind our couch we have 3 large windows (96 inch high 30 inch wide each) and I always thought you were supposed to put the speakers at ear level such as on a stand. I'd prefer to get them on the wall as we have dogs and a rug to contend with getting the wiring run as well as worrying about them getting knocked over. Have NO clue what to do to get a nice system without breaking the bank or remodeling the home. lol

They can leave out the audio commentary and put back DTS. Don't care for commentaries.

Mount it on the ceiling. It's not too far off from the L/R rear speakers :)

That's an idea, but it would depend on the dimensions of the speaker. There's a flourescent light fixture in the ceiling just past the edge of that pic. I could see mounting it between the top of the window and the ceiling, but like I said, it'd depend on the size of the speaker.

Another idea is talk about your theater in the hardware/home theater gear forum, so I don't have to look at your beds if I want to learn about the Gladiator DVD. Thanks.
