It's automatic. They just send you an email pointing out that the price dropped by the release date, and credit you the difference.
(If you don't see that email in a day or two, just shoot an email to customer service and point out the issue. I've had to do that once and they credited the diff no problem.)

Anybody else watching this set yet?
The quality is amazing. The ones I've seen before have never looked better. This is the best silent era release of the year.

I'm about halfway through and I agree the quality is excellent. Though the accompanying booklet and on-screen notes are informative, I really wish that Flicker had included some audio commentaries a la Allday's Harry Langdon set which set the standard for releases of this nature. Agreed this will probably make all the year end best release lists.

Re: Charlie Chaplin's Keystone Films?
Hey guys,
Question. How do I find out if "Mabel's Married Life" is in the public domain? I would like to use about 30-45 seconds from a scene in this film for a project I am working on, but I don't know how to find out if I have to pay anyone for the rights to use it. Would I contact Flicker or is there a list somewhere of public domain films?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Dan
UPDATE: I just found this online "In 1998 an additional 20 years was granted to the copyright period making all films for 1923 on available for a 95 year period of protection. All films made BEFORE 1923 are permanently in the public domain. Through all of these extensions, American films which had already fallen into the public domain for the reasons sited above continued to be public domain."
"Mabel's Married Life" is 1914 so it looks like it's in the public domain. But does that mean I can take a really nice restored copy, like from this Chaplin box set, and use it? Or is there a specific print that is in the public domain?

Flicker's restoration efforts, however, are their own property and subject to copyright.

Re: Charlie Chaplin's Keystone Films?
Thanks, I figured that might be the case. I'll shoot Flicker an email and see if I can use it if I give them a credit/promote their box set. In the likely event that they say NO, is there a place where I can buy a 16mm print of this film?
