So it's basically the Hong Kong R0 DVD packaged by Tai Seng in R1 land? Makes sense, you know, since Tai Seng does that for all their releases...

And didn't Tai Seng put this out months ago? I thought they put this almost half a year ago?

This is different from the Ringu put out by Dreamworks when The Ring first came out on DVD, right?

Yes, August 2004. This has to be a re-release.

Is the only difference between ringu, that there are different actors? Or is it a different story.

You and me both. Man, I thought Ringu sucked! I mean you find out halfway through the movie that
Spoiler:
one of the characters just happens to be psychic and so he just tells the backstory?!??! The US version was miles better with the way the detective work unraveled the story.

I liked "The Ring Virus", they added some things that the Japanese original Ringu didn't have and that the US version took from (the US version basically took the Korean and Japanese stories and melded them together). If memory serves.
