Slip and keepcase are identical. The slipcase even has a hole cut in it so that the UPC from the keepcase shows through.

Flipper CASE as in it looks like a single DVD case but has a 2 sided holder on the inside.
Fear not, this is 2 separate discs. 1 for the film, and 1 for the special features.

It is a regular keepcase, with a center disc holder that holds a disc on both sides. When you open the case, it flips back and forth - hence me calling it a "flipper". Obviously that's not the proper terminology, but that's what I called it.
And yes, there is a hole in the slipcase so the UPC on the keepcase can show through.

so same commentary, "meh" features, and basically the same (albeit now animorphic) Visuals? I'm starting to think this wouldnt be a very good purchase AT ALL.

i hope its different than the US version. im not about to pay $15-$20 just for a few crap features, DTS (which i dont use) and an animorphic pricture. Damn, cant MGM do a little more with this release? SpaceBalls is a cult classic, and im sure itll make alot of money when it comes out. But those who are uniformed will be surprised to learn they just bought a Superbit-ish rerealease of the same DVD they already have...

Full specs list:
New Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer (looks awesome BTW)

DD 5.1
English, French and Spanish subtitles
Audio Commentary by Mel Brooks
Spaceballs: The Documentary
In Conversation: Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
John Candy: Comic Spirit
Storyboard to Film comparison
Film Flubs
Spacequotes
Spaceballs: The Trivia Game
Spaceballs: The behind the movie photos
Exhibitor Trailer with Mel Brooks Introduction

So it's quite a good release, at least as far as I am concerned, as I did not own the previous release.

most of the special features are pictures and text information. damned, is the documentary different than the behind the scenes on the current release?
oh, and conscerning whatd id like on the CE....well, maybe a NEW commentary, deleted scenes, more bloopers (than what came on the first release), a segment on thew schwartz, dark helmet, barf etc. there are so many possibilities and it just seems MGM slapped a few "meh" features, a DTS and a clearer picture on this supposed Collector's Edition and sent it out. They could have done so much more with this one...reminds me of the Ghost in the Shell CE.
Here are my "Fantasy" Specs:
Newly Remastered Animorphic Widescreen Feature
DD 5.1
DTS 5.1
Old Mel Brooks Commentary (?)
New Mel Brooks Commentary
Spaceballs: The Documentary
"The Schwartz" Featurette
"Dark Helmet" Fearturette
"Mel Brooks: A Multi-Character Look at Spaceballs"
Featurette on the Restoration Process
Old Documentary (for shits and giggles)
"In Coversation: Brooks and Meehan"
Storyboard - to - Screen
Deleted Scenes
Blooper Reel
Spaceballs Trivia Game
"The Cult of Spaceballs: The Schwartz is with Them"
I think these features would be desired most by the fans, and the "Schwartz is with them" would be funny, as it mimics the "Force is With Them" Feature from the Star Wars DVD Set. After all, you gotta have some Star wars fun thrown in there

Watched the movie last night.
VERY nice crisp picture. I found the DTS track to be too quiet during some of the "dialog only" parts, I found myself adjusting the volume to compensate. Haven't had time to get to the special features yet, but I'm happy with the purchase.
