I agree. The movie isn't anywhere near as bad as it's been made out to be. The only thing seriously wrong with it is the miscasting of both Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie, and neither is really terrible.

Every year there are certain movies that it becomes fashionable to dump on regardless of their actual strengths or weaknesses. I doubt that 1/10th of the people who bitch about this movie actually saw it, if that many.

And GuamGuy is being disingenous as well. There is more than 15 minutes of battle footage in the movie, and although the "gayness" of Alexander is never explicitly stated it is very prominently suggested throughout the movie, and did drive off many audience members. Regardless of how much "gayness" there actually was in the movie, the controversy that was emphasized in the press around its release was more than enough to keep many prospective viewers away.
