Big, Floating Head! Aviator Cover - Bleh

Not being a fan of "big head" or "floating head" DVD covers, this one just truly disturbed me! Yikes!!

"I am the great and powerful Oz"

Not only a giant head, a giant disembodied head. It looks as if the airplane is some sort of bow tie. Or that the plane is being piloted by a giant head.

I'd think that something like DiCaprio sitting in the cockpit of a plane would be a more appropriate, and easily marketable, image.

I'll bet that the giant head is duplicated on the disc coverart and they needed a two disc panorama for it to fit on.

I'm not liking this cover at all, but at least it beats the R2 one:

your link doesn't work cuz you can't link to DVDAnswers.com pictures.

Leo's hand looks like the guidance counselor on South Park...I forget his name.

Exactly. I think it fits the idea behind the movie very well.

Actually, that's not even a poster for the movie, but the soundtrack. The cover of the DVD is the original poster art. I have no idea how to post a pic, but check out IMDB. The poster art there is identical to the DVD release. I don't see what everybody is complaining about. I thought it looked good and captured the movie perfectly. I know it's fashionable to rail against "big head" covers, but if it's done right, occasionally I think it can work out, like in this case.

I'm aware that's the CD, but if you cut off the far right side, it's the OTHER movie poster. Here's a better version :

I just like it a lot better than that one. But I do agree with you that the same folks who whine when the one-sheet isn't used on the DVD should be happy when it is. It's just that this one-sheet is much nicer and more cerebral.

Not much of a fan of the DVD cover they're coming out with. Might check out other regions and hopefully find a DTS track somewhere.

Almost as bad as the cover for The Last Samurai:

Same studio...no surprise there.
