"The O.C." Season 2-------JULY 19th!!!!
I just spoke with a friend who does marketing for Warners, and he confirmed for me the date. He also indicated to me that Season 2 WILL INDEED be 1:78:1 transfers, instead of the 1:33:1. No artwork or extras as of yet. I'm psyched .Finally we're getting this in Anamorphic Widescreen!!!!

I wish it would be released real fast like that. I had to miss the first half of the season and now I am all confused. If this is a BS post, darn you. If it isn't, thanks.

Well July 19th Seems like a good guess actually. On www.tvtome.com I found this link to dvdtimes list of region 2 dvd releases and they list OC Season 2 on July 18 (which is actually a Monday). Normally region 2 warner brother releases are the same day or after the region 1 release, so I think that July is a good guess for this release.... Lets just hope we will get more commentaries this time around.

Maybe it will come with the extended episode with oasis on? I'll see it when we see something more official. There isn't much going your way here. Season 2 started about as late as you can think. I wouldn't think about it if Fox waited until after MLB playoffs again.

Nope, my info for R1 release is that this won't hit until the Fall, closer to the start of the 3rd Season. The renewal was just announced yesterday. But not for a "summer season"; the plan is for a 2005-2006 run, similar to the Fall-to-Spring runs of S1 and S2.
The July DVD release for R2 has to do with the way American shows are imported to the U.K., and has little bearing on the North American release.

Actually, Season 1 premiered in the summer. They (Fox) were not expecting it to be the hit that it was, but once it did really good, they signed off on a full season, and after either episode 6 or 7, they had a 6-8 week hiatus (I forget how long - but I remember I spent $20 on eBay for a promo copy of the next episode to watch it two weeks early, and yes, it was worth it).
