The Longest Yard SE DVD in May?
Is anyone biting on this? I might of if it would be in 5.1, but I don't think it is so I think i'll keep my origional and skip the new one.

Yes, I was about to buy the original. I caught a little of it on tv a while ago and went looking for it. Decided to wait a bit since there was remake coming out and sure enough a new version (I think I saw it at DVDPricesearch a few weeks back - reasonable price if I rememeber right) is set to come out. So I will probably pick it up.

Some websites are reporting a 5.1 track - that is not that important to me, but it may be to others. digitaleyes.net list a 5.1 track but that may be wrong.

The SLAPSHOT spec. ed. didn't seem worth the upgrade, ANIMAL HOUSE was the worth the upgrade. So if they put in some deleted scenes and interviews with cast memebers that would make it worth it.

I got the first release for dirt cheap, so I'll give this one a look. I don't care about 5.1, but hopefully there'll be enough supplements to warrant the SE label. However, although I'll see it when it comes out, I'd hope that they don't weigh it down with a lot of the remake's promotional material.

I'm on it. I'm sure the mono will stay on there for the purists even if they include a 5.1 track, so I don't get all the pre-release anxiety. It's a great, great movie, and it will be good to know DVD fans will see how it can be done before Sandler's buddies ruin a great memory.
