ST 1st Contact not DD EX like ST Generations?
Why is Star Trek First Contact SCE not Dolby Digital EX like Star Trek Generations SCE? They both are 2 disk sets in very similiar looking cases. Why not be consistent and present First contract in DD EX as well. I don't understand how the older of the two movies has the newer audio format.
And while I'm ranting here, how come Generations has a DD EX track and only a standard DTS track? Most DVDs I've seen with a DD EX track also have DTS EX rather than just plain old DTS. |
You do realize that the first six Star Trek movies have also came out in this format too, right? None of them had a DTS track, let along a DD-EX.

A disc doesn't have to be specifically flagged for EX/ES in order to matrix well into a back surround channel. Turn on the decoding anyway and see how it sounds.
