The newer Nemo promotion release did have a slip cover but those copies may be sold out. Like other Disney titles, the slip cover was only a copy of the cover itself.

the 2 disc "collectors edition" I have does have a slipcover... I agree with the guy above me, the Pixar releases that do have a slipcover are just a copy of the cover art, so you're not missing anything.

Just buy the one pictured here:

The other version available is barebones and I think nonanamorphic. This one has all the features of the original CE which is no longer available.

Ah, the 2 disc slim is the way to go. Out of curiosity, isn't there an older 2 disc wide case? Were there any differences between that and the current release?

Not really. The original CE (the wide case w/ the green cover) was no longer available so to tie-in with the release of Finding Nemo, Disney rereleased it as the new CE (in the link). The new CE has all the same features. The only difference is that it also has some Finding Nemo related material like a trailer and maybe a new game.

I was about to chime in and say mine doesn't have a slip cover
Never knew they released a CE version. That's cool because the price on the original 2 disc was getting close to crazy on ebay.

Atleast the contents are the same between the orginal CE and this one that is out. So many times you here how the release is missing stuff from the first release. I bought mine back in 2003 and so mine has the slipcover.

Even if you were to find a copy of the original CE somewhere (yeah right), it would almost certainly be priced higher than the rerelease. I don't know if you could sell it for more than you paid for it just because it's the original edition, but just buying it for the content you'd be better off with the cheaper rerelease.

Just to confuse things further, I have an original CE slimcase version. Same cover art and content, just with a slim double amaray. I'm glad too because I prefer the original cover art. Less cute, more style.

My friend actually didn't believe that such a beast existed. I had to send him photos. I don't think there were many of the original slim-doubles made.

Just picked up a copy today at Circuit City with the slipcover. They had 3 copies with slipcovers and one without. I've seen The two disk version also at Target and Walmart but never w/ the slipcover.

Unlike most of these Disney DVDs, "A Bug's Life" comes with a rainbow foil on the outside case insert, so it's not as bad as giving up a slick slipcover and getting a boring case insert. So I went ahead and picked up the 2/d version for $11.99.
