eisenreich 03-12-05 11:04 AM

35.. still working on it

stickz2 03-12-05 11:07 AM

16 for me. I never buy what's in the top anything lists. I buy what I like. :)

illennium 03-12-05 11:13 AM

Currently, out of my collection of 250 films, 89 are on this list. There are about 40-45 more that I am planning to get either when they get better DVD treatment or when I can set aside the funds.

It's a suprisingly decent list, although about 50 of those films are schmaltzy feel-good entertainment masquerading as good cinema, and another 30 or so are only on there because they're recent and thus still fresh in people's minds.

Third Baseman 03-12-05 11:18 AM

Just 23 right now. I'll own em' all one day.

neilo13 03-12-05 11:20 AM

I have 33, and I see a few that I still need to get. How about we add to this game and also tell how many you have on the bottom 100 list?

I have 4, Smokey and the Bandit 3 and 3 Police Academys, I don't feel ashamed of those, I bought the sets. Although I did enjoy City Under Seige, should I feel bad?? -confused-

56.
I see that the special edition DVDs for the Leone movies brought them higher on the list. A few years ago, I remember that Good/Bad/Ugly was somewhere in the 50's and Once/West was around 80.

have 5 on the "bottom" list..

fryinpan1 03-12-05 11:56 AM

I have 72 counting some that I have on order.

Sondheim 03-12-05 11:56 AM

92, at least if I counted right. A few of them were blind buys, but most of them I bought because I really like the movies. There are many more on the list that I hope to own pending better releases/more funds.

OldBoy 03-12-05 11:57 AM

Currently...104, soon to be 105.

fliggil 03-12-05 12:00 PM

61, however as much as I love IMDb, I pretty much hate their Top250 lists, there are way too many current movies there that definately do not belong.

I'm not ashamed to admit I have 5 of them: Hercules in New York, Robocop 3, Police Academy 5 & 6, and Superman IV.

Malticor 03-12-05 12:05 PM

71. 72 counting The Incredibles. A few more on my wishlist that I haven't gotten around to buying yet.

smirnoffski 03-12-05 12:06 PM

68 of them. pretty surprising

story 03-12-05 12:09 PM

77 or so. Two things about this list, though:

1. I was surprised by how many good movies are out there I still "keep meaning to pick up."

2. I don't trust the IMDB Top 250 anymore. Something about the way they tally votes just doesn't add up in my book to a true top 250 list. I think it has to do with how many flicks from the last year get on it so quickly simply due to the number of votes. Finding Neverland is good, but not one of the best 250 films ever made. Even if you took every best picture nominee (also not an indicator of the best 250 films ever made), there's over 350 of them, and I'm not sure if it would be in the top 250.

wastro 03-12-05 12:13 PM

I own 65, but with a few more releases on the horizon (Incredibles, MDB, Sideways, Hotel Rwanda, etc ...) that number will increase.

KV12482 03-12-05 12:13 PM

65 and counting...

kitkat 03-12-05 12:15 PM

33, a whopping 1/3 of my collection, plus one more on vhs.

And yeah, there's a bunch more on my mental wish/mean to buy list.

Cyberock 03-12-05 12:27 PM

74 here

Laser Movies 03-12-05 12:31 PM

Currently have 150 on the list. Would have had about 10 more but sold off some them because of rumors of better editions coming in the future.

FilmFanSea 03-12-05 12:41 PM

I currently own just over half, at 128 (out of a collection of 797). I've owned an additional 13 of these in the past, but sold them.

Bronkster 03-12-05 12:53 PM

130, going from memory.

rdclark 03-12-05 01:01 PM

101. There are quite a few more I probably would have or will buy if the price is right. Or maybe I'll wait now, and get them in HD...

It's certainly not a definitive list of anything, other than "250 Movies that a Lot of Internet Movie Geeks Like," but it's useful nonetheless.

I have 103. Well that blows my belief that I have unique film tastes.

I don't have any of the Bottom 100.

dmvksv 03-12-05 01:47 PM

74, the Incredibles next week will make it 75

JeffreyLebowski 03-12-05 01:48 PM

131 here. I used to follow this list a lot when I was first building my collection. I've sold at least a dozen of the ones I didn't deem as must-have.

I looked back through the list and realized I missed five that I have because I didn't recognize the foreign language titles. How embarassing. :o I still couldn't find any that I have in the bottom hundred though. :)
