How many of IMDB's top 250 do you own?
how many of the movies listed in IMDB's top 250 do you own on DVD?
http://www.imdb.com/chart/top |
52 ..55 if you count 3 that a family member "owns" that I do not consider part of my collection..
1 :( T2..
69 including family members, which is only like shrek and monster's inc.

35.. still working on it
16 for me. I never buy what's in the top anything lists. I buy what I like. :)
Currently, out of my collection of 250 films, 89 are on this list. There are about 40-45 more that I am planning to get either when they get better DVD treatment or when I can set aside the funds.
It's a suprisingly decent list, although about 50 of those films are schmaltzy feel-good entertainment masquerading as good cinema, and another 30 or so are only on there because they're recent and thus still fresh in people's minds. |
Just 23 right now. I'll own em' all one day.
I have 33, and I see a few that I still need to get. How about we add to this game and also tell how many you have on the bottom 100 list?
I have 4, Smokey and the Bandit 3 and 3 Police Academys, I don't feel ashamed of those, I bought the sets. Although I did enjoy City Under Seige, should I feel bad?? -confused- http://www.imdb.com/chart/bottom |
51 here, several more on my want list. Some still on VHS
I have 42 of them, but there are a bunch i'm planning to buy.
I own 80 from the list (I'm including The Incredibles since it'll be out on Tues)

56.
I see that the special edition DVDs for the Leone movies brought them higher on the list. A few years ago, I remember that Good/Bad/Ugly was somewhere in the 50's and Once/West was around 80. |

I have 72 counting some that I have on order.
92, at least if I counted right. A few of them were blind buys, but most of them I bought because I really like the movies. There are many more on the list that I hope to own pending better releases/more funds.
Currently...104, soon to be 105.
61, however as much as I love IMDb, I pretty much hate their Top250 lists, there are way too many current movies there that definately do not belong.

71. 72 counting The Incredibles. A few more on my wishlist that I haven't gotten around to buying yet.
68 of them. pretty surprising
77 or so. Two things about this list, though:
1. I was surprised by how many good movies are out there I still "keep meaning to pick up." 2. I don't trust the IMDB Top 250 anymore. Something about the way they tally votes just doesn't add up in my book to a true top 250 list. I think it has to do with how many flicks from the last year get on it so quickly simply due to the number of votes. Finding Neverland is good, but not one of the best 250 films ever made. Even if you took every best picture nominee (also not an indicator of the best 250 films ever made), there's over 350 of them, and I'm not sure if it would be in the top 250. |
I own 65, but with a few more releases on the horizon (Incredibles, MDB, Sideways, Hotel Rwanda, etc ...) that number will increase.
