Rwanda on DVD

10 years too late of you ask me, but for those interested in the topic:

Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Roméo Dallaire
(Microfilm, 03/01) - Already out

- General Dallaire, former head of UN mission to Rwanda, returns to that country for the 1st time, 10 years after the genocide. Based partly on his award winning book by the same title:

Hotel Rwanda (MGM, 04/12)

- Don Cheadle stars in the true-life story of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who housed over a thousand Tutsis refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda. One of the best films of 2004.

Ghosts of Rwanda (PBS Frontline, 05/10)

- Two hour documentary exploring the social, political, and diplomatic failures that converged to enable the genocide to occur.

I assume you mean the Hotel Rwanda DVD. It's doubtful that they would include it with the film and then release it on its own the next month.

I agree though. That would be cool.

It sucks that MGM sucks and so this movie is getting crappy DVD treatment.

I have Shake Hands with the Devil and it's not only a powerful documentary, it's also an excellent DVD with some interesting extras including 2 commentary tracks.

After all he went thru, how general Dallaire isn't dead or in the loony bin today is beyond me.
