Which AVP version is better?

I'm curious about the 'Alien vs Predator' theatrical and extended version. Does the extended version give more information about the story? Would this be a better version?

I believe the extended version only has a few new minutes at the beginning about how the predators established themselves on earth in the past.

Picking which version is better is kind of like asking someone to decide if they'd prefer lethal injection or the electric chair, IMHO.

The new stuff in the extended cut was worthwhile. I'd say that I prefer it.

The only difference is a 2 minute sequence before the titles with a guy running through the snow, almost getting nailed by a Predator, but instead, the Predator gets caught by an Alien! CUT TO MAIL TITLE.

Or more like, asking someone which version of a book they enjoy most, the one with or without the one-page prologue.

I had forgotten about the 2-minute prelude (how memorable it must have been). I thought the question was going to be about the Alien cover or the Predator cover (WS vs. FF if nobody else noticed).

I thought this was going to be about the R1 vs. R2 versions. Just watch the "extended" version yourself and make your own mind up.
