What's taking so long to announce these titles? C'mon Warner get your act together.

Best Picture nominees (particularly the winner and leading contenders which these two are) are usually slow to come out. They use the publicity of winning to get some more $$$ at the box office.

I imagine we'll see both around August. I"m undecided on picking up MDB as I didn't like it as much as most and I don't know that I'd watch it that many times in the future.

Definitely picking up The Aviator though.

All I want is for Warners to use the DVD release of MILLION DOLLAR BABY as an opportunity to also release an anamorphic widescreen Special Edition of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY.

What is the link to the website with the dvd release date?

I hope they don't use the movie poster with Leo in the sunglasses as the cover.

August seems late. May seems about right.

May 24th, as Cameron said, for Aviator.

Videoeta is also "estimating" a June release for MDB.

That sounds good. I'm glad it's not another Mystic River situation where you have to buy the one with the soundtrack to get any extras at all.

Here's a little more info on The Aviator dvd:

I'll get either the 2-disc or the 2-disc with the soundtrack.

I knew I put off buying the CD for a reason.

You can read all about "The Aviator" and it's 5/24/2005 release date even on Amazon.com. Why don't people check their sites before they ask questions like this?! I'll never understand it. They do not yet list a release date for "Million Dollar Baby" though, so that's a good question.

DVDSoon are showing June 7th for Million Dollar Baby. I hope the widescreen edition will really be 2 disks and not 1 disk as was the case with Mystic River. I hated having to buy the 3 disk edition just to get the extras.

Maybe because this thread was started almost 2 months ago?!

In all fairness this thread is two months old and I doubt Amazon had any info on The Aviator DVD back then.

Looks like my suspicions were correct. There will be two single disk releases and a 3-disk edition, just like with Mystic River, according to DVDAnswers

I don't want the bloody CD soundtrack or the thicker case that the 3-disk edition requires. Why are Warner forcing me to buy it just to get extras!!!

Makes me glad I decided to pass on Million Dollar Baby (didn't think I'd watch it over and over enough).

I'm getting the 3-disc. I knew I held off on buying the CD for a reason and my reason was right.

Well, par for the course on these higher-priced SE's, some retailer will make a mistake...and we'll jump on it!

I really liked MDB, so I guess I'll get the 3-disc as well, even though it's, once again, a shady move by Warner Bros. to only offer a featureless 1 disc or a 3 disc that includes a cd I'll never listen to.

Is the cover for MDB gonna be in B&W? Cause I like that a lot. I'll probably get the Deluxe with the CD has I loved the score.
