Criterion releases announced for May.

The following releases have been slated for a May release on Criterion's website:

Hoop Dreams

Burden of Dreams

The Phantom of Liberty

The actual specs can be viewed at:

http://www.criterionco.com/asp/coming_soon.asp

I personally cannot wait for Burden of Dreams. Good stuff.

Man, are they ever going to release any more British-era Hitchcock?

Burden of Dreams sounds very interesting from the synopsis on the site. Still no Life Aquatic announcement. Hmm..

What's up with THIS for The Life Aquatic?!? If real, that cover is definitely out of step with Criterion's previous covers...putting an actors name front and center.

Wow, BURDEN OF DREAMS??? I'm a Herzog (and Kinski) fan, and it's a great film. I can't wait to pick up the Criterion disc (and throw away the VHS I taped off TV).

Jules et Jim delayed til May...

Didn't find anything through search on this...

Checking on my DVDPlanet order for this and Kagemusha, it seems that Jules et Jim has been delayed until May 31. Criterion site confirms it as a May release now. Anyone know the story with this? Why would they delay it for May? Thanks...

Routine production delays according to Jon Mulvaney ...

you should edit the May releases to include "The Life Aquatic", i think that is a very anticipated title, at least by me!!

What? Looks like a all the other Wes Anderson covers to me.

Eric Anderson does the artwork.

Edit: Okay I finally see what you are talking about. It looks like they are doing the same as the Royal Tenenbaums release. A more standard slipcase with the actors names and the Eric Anderson artwork cover underneath. No big deal they pretty much did the same thing with Royal Tenenbaums. Probably Disney's doing since they have no sense of style or art anymore. Disney probably figures no one will buy it unless Bill Murray's name is ten feet high on the cover.
