Favorite Kevin Smith movie: Dogma
All this talk about comedies and no mention of the Austin Powers movies. Those movies make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts.
Also, even though you're only 16, I'm sure your tastes are more adult (if u like the Scary Movie spoofs), so check out the season sets of South Park and "Team America" is coming out in May.

Film-noir is basically a film movement from the 40s-50s (although there were some noir before and after, this is the prime period). They often involve stark urban settings, seedy sorts of characters, crime, femme fatales, investigators, wrongly accused people, etc. The most famous are probably The Maltese Falcon and Double Indemnity. The latter is my favorite, but the DVD is poor and out of print.
