Why? Explain to me the logic in owning something that you don't particularly care for... :hscratch: Afraid I'm lost here, is it because Star Wars and Indy are "cool" or something? Or is it too impress someone else? Fill me in please. :hscratch:

bodomnet 02-22-05 04:20 PM

Matrix

gutwrencher 02-22-05 04:24 PM

add Chappelle's Show. Virtually everyone owns it...
Can't stand that guy.

Not everyone has them, but If I had my way, I'd put the following in everyones library. It would be healthy.

Sunset Blvd.
On the Waterfront
Raging Bull
Strangers On a Train

cfloyd3 02-22-05 04:29 PM

I don't care for Indiana Jones, The Matrix, Star Wars, or LOTR so it removes me from comment on those but I would like to believe everyone owns..

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST

For like $8-9 now at your local Wal-Mart and online everyone alive should own this title, no excuses allowed.

guys, please, this isnt the post everything in your collection thread, this is the post dvds that show up in the majority of peoples collections thread. just because you dont like a movie doesnt mean it doesnt belong in other peoples collections.

Mondo Kane 02-22-05 04:56 PM

American History X seems to pop up on lots of guys' collections here.

I'm not big on TV shows, but I sure see a hella lot of Simpsons,Buffys,X-Files,Treks,24s,and Aliases.

Myself, I don't own nor care to own Star Wars, Indy, BTTF, Godfather Trilogy (I do own Part I, it's a great film, don't care much for the others), Toy Story, Band Of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, etc
Okay, we need someone over here to beat some good taste into Johnny.

Just kidding Johnny. :D

I couldn't agree with you more. Makes me think they're lying through their teeth, or they're completely nuts for buying a DVD to a film they don't like. They usually just give you the excuse that they received it as a gift. You get this all the time with TPM and AOTC.

But I agree with you Johnny.

Whether you like it or not, everyone should own Star Wars Trilogy and Indiana Jones Trilogy
If I may speak for him, I believe he's talking about their cultural and historical importance. Though I still agree with Johnny. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

I don't own Star Wars or The Matrix. If I could put one disc in everyone's collection it would be Miller's Crossing.

Shagrath 02-22-05 06:09 PM

Well, every dvd I own is found in all of *my* collections, since I only have one collection. Technically, that would be the same answer for everyone, unless someone had two or more collections.

Is that why you felt it necessary to include every Quentin Tarrantino flick ever made in your list?

I like this movie and I own it but I think its a little over rated compared to "The Man w/ No Name Trilogy" I think ppl need that in their collection or at least "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" or any other spaghetti western out there.

take a look at most peoples HT/DVD Collections pics dude

U6C84 02-22-05 10:29 PM

Memento and Boondock Saints

Atreus 02-22-05 10:41 PM

Lot's of people have Donnie Darko (especially now that the director's cut is out) mainly cause it is a decent film and the initial release was pretty cheap. And who here doesn't own The Bad Seed (1956)?

Master Shake 05 02-22-05 10:43 PM

i dont own donnie or bad seed, but i know most people do. im planning on picking donnie up though...

Ah......didn't they say that about Mein Kampf?

Kris81 02-22-05 10:54 PM

I'd go with Reservoir Dogs because it's a great film, the special editions were cool & they were very cheap at one point (i got mine for 15$ at hmv a few years back)

(please justify your reasonings like that.. just dont throw out titles, LOL)
