I love those double-alpha cases, so much so I've bought a box of them to convert some of my other cases - they just have such a nice look on your shelf.
One case I really hate is the Scanvo - they did a custom green one for HULK, which had the hulk logo embossed on the inside, behind the insert clips. Unfortunately the two discs sat ON TOP OF EACH other, meaning you had to remove one disc, to get to another. Double-Amarays - that's the only way to do single-dvd cases in my opinion. |
Alien Quadrilogy is approximately 18 feet long when unfolded. I had to buy a bigger house just to open the damn thing.
|
I hate snappers.
|
Saw - Without the slip it's just a clear case.
Once upon a time in Mexico - The slip cover sucks! If you toss it there is no title on the spine so you have to keep the slip. |
Compared to the kind used for "Sex and the City," snappers are the lesser of the two evils. I really dislike the plastic packaging because it's not very practical. It feels like if you open it once too many times, the plastic lid will snap off. The hubs that hold the discs also break quite easily.
|
i posted this in the slipcovers thread, but one of my biggest gripes is not even a eratin type of packaging; rather, whats on it. I hate it when stores feel the need to put their big ass, ugly stickers all over the cover or slipcover, sometimes even covering the movie title. It just erks the hell out of me, as if the thing belongs to them and they dont want you to touch it so they put crap all over it. There's no point in it. Just pujt the price and add a sign ontop of the rack or something if you want to say "New release!" or "Lowest Price Evar Pwn3d!"

DVD players can actually damage discs - this happens more often than people think. You'll have a disc that played flawlessly the first time you watched it, but then, a bit later, you go to watch it again and it doesn't play right, even though it never left it's case - sometimes a dvd might spin in its tray, creating tiny little scuff, that can be enough to effect play-back - even top-tier dvd players have trays that can and DO damage discs. |

You are right...but I'm one of the few that really takes care and preserves the library. I examine my discs carefully....and on a regular basis. I have found that 99% of the time, if a dvd goes bad....its because it was born bad at the plant, ie...poor qauilty control. Anyway...we're talking about the cases , not the discs. |
however, if the packaging ruins the discs that counts...
|
x men collection flashy looking but the discs always fall out and hp and the chamber of secrets sliding out for only left handers its kinda annoying
|
eh. alot of people dont like digis, it looks like...

Yes, we know.

1) Total Recall's round tin
2) T2's ill fitting tin where the dvd case falls out whenever you pick it up. 3) Any of those cases you have to unfold it many times to get at the disc you want (eg X-Files) 4) Anything in canada with Bilingual Packaging ( especially Back to The Future - soooo ugly :yack: ). |
scott, pleez dont make me go on my fith threadcrapping tirade again :)

You have 13 posts in this thread alone (soon to be 14, I'm sure).
Give it a fucking rest. We don't need an "I see." or an "I agree" post after every reply. Give it a fucking rest. Seriously. |

look. post 16 its not against the rules, however threadcrapping is. if you have something to say about packaging say it but please stop ruining every single one of my threads. its just childish.
Today: Tarantino, you came after me in my HEAT thread saying that it was a waste of space even though we werent doing anything wrong. when i asked you nicely to leave, you basically told me to fuck off. then, when that thread was closed you decide to come hjere and continue the same bullshit. how would you like it if i hasd every one of your threads shut down? |

Can we just get back to the packaging already?
|
This one will be closed soon...enjoy it while you can.
Tarantino/Master Shake is the new Jackskeleton/Dalvin. |
i dont want to be. tarntino had no reason to just come in and tell me how to run my life. its uncalled for and has nothing to do with the topic. i dont want this closed down because it is very informative, but if it must than so be it...
|
Master, it's your fave friend again...here to help you out. You were tossed out of the other forum because you don't know how to act civil. You can blame the strict, unfair mods over there if you want. It's all you, man. You have some real issues. You won't last here, either.
 |
oh man you guys find any reason to crucify me heh....seriously, what have i done to you now, gut? i apologized like a man for my actions, while you stood by and did squat. now you, tarntino and scott are all ganging up on me in a DVD Packaging Thread, offending me and calling my post count into question? Thanx, you really are a great friend...

I understand sometimes it takes a minute for the n00bs to fall in line and learn how it is around here, but we've told you countless times and it's starting to piss me off. I'm here for information...not to make friends. The friends I do end up making (and I've met many here), that's just a bonus. I'm here for the information. If I wanted to chat, I'd be on AOL somewhere. Try to get my threads locked down. It might be kind of hard, seeing as that I don't currently have any 'Heat rocks ur motha' posts floating out there at the moment. And spell my fucking name right - Tarantino. |
I don't mind digi packs, like everyone else i hate snappers, another one that really bugs me that i have not seen mentioned in this thread yet are the ones with the velcro tabs to close them like Dances with Wolves SE and Day of the Dead divimax i just hate those things they are hard to grab out of the shelf

Guys, posts like this aren't contributing to the discussion. If someone has broken a forum rule, please report them. For this thread, I don't see anything too unusual other than these threadcraps. |
Can't believe nobody picked the TV show Sliders nothing comes close.
