I can confirm this!
MGM is releasing this through Fox as a flipper disc: full frame and widescreen...along with Peter's Friends, and Some Girls. $14.98 with a stereo soundtrack..

Best release news for 2008! Sure gives you hope when those few titles left on a release list get announced. Can't wait for this one. I am also in for Some Girls.

Amazon has the cover art up. I've never seen this art used before...I thought for sure we would see some giant floating heads for the cover. This is pretty cool.

Found this a little early at my local Best Buy. Price was 9.99.
Anyhoo, one PROBLEM I noticed. The scene where Aames takes Heather Thomas back to his place after Magic Land. Towards the end of this scene, when Heather and Aames are on the couch about to get it on, is supposed to be completely dark. I remember it from my old VHS. But on this DVD you can clearly see both of them and this results in a pretty bad lip synching issue with the dialog during this scene.
Just thought I'd give ya a warning.

So I put this in on my Toshiba HD DVD player and played the same scene and the results were better. I think I calibrated my settings better on this machine because the scene was much darker and I couldn't notice the lip synching issue. The first player I tried it on was my PS3, so I guess my settings suck on that.
I guess it is a problem if your tv is set to bright, but if calibrated right you wont notice the problem.

does the Scatman Crothers hallucination scene hold up after all these years? I remember that being the highlight of the movie, plus that weird looking baseball player.
