Man, I've dreamed of owning this show since long before I had any idea that people would be able to own entire seasons of tv shows.
Bill McNeil was the funniest sitcom character of all time. Lisa Miller/Maura Tierney was the hottest sitcom female of all time and the first one I had a crush on since my high school crush on a young Christina Applegate. Also, it had the best opening credits and theme song. There are so many shows where you get them finally and you don't remember the pilot and a few of the shows from the 1st season. I remember every single episode and how I felt watching the show for the first time. The pilot was good, but right from show 2 it became great. The bloopers had me crying. I really miss Phil Hartman. The list of commentary tracks is mighty impressive. GREAT, GREAT SHOW! When Dave starts breaking Bill's canes over his leg and someone keeps throwing him new ones and Dave keeps breaking them, man, that's just classic. I would have been happy to buy all the seasons at once. |
Hey all, first time poster, loooooooong time lurker. I just bought the Newsradio DVD yesterday and noticed a HUGE typo on the back of the case when I got home. Right under the People Magazine quote in red letters where it says "3-Disc Collectible Set Including the Complete First & Second Seasons!" the word "Second" is missing a "d" at the end. Does anybody else's look like this or am I just special?

Good news!
The set's currently ranked # 8(!)on Amazon.com's DVD sales chart. Should be an encouraging sign that more sets will be released in the future. |
Oh man, I was so worried I was gonna make one of those newbie mistakes and then I still managed to do it! I guess I should learn to read whole posts instead of stopping halfway. :grumble:

Circuit City at $27.99 and if you have a Walmart nearby that carries it, it will be slightly cheaper...by about 10 cents or so. |
My local Wal-Mart had it for 29.00. I was hoping for a bit cheaper but it evened out with my 10% discount and it saved my wife running to CC when she went out to get it for me. :)

Bought mine yesterday via a CC pricematch at Best Buy and I've watched around 5-6 episodes so far and plan on watching everything this set has to offer. IMO, this is the greatest sitcom ever from seasons 1-4 and if Columbia doesn't release 3 and 4, someone will pay!!!

Looks like Amazon/Barnes & Noble have the best price online.
Works out to about $26 bucks at bn.com if you're a member. Plus, if you add something else (or buy 2!) there's a $5 off $50 coupon floating around. |

But if there was some hesitation, I think the sales have been good enough to warrant them giving us the last 3 seasons. I would go nuts if I couldn't have the Newsradio in Space and Titantic classic episodes. I listened to the Maura Tierney commentary today and she was cracking up at everything Andy Dick did. It was hilarious. |
