The Maxx?
Anybody remember this show from MTV's Oddities? It was a single season affair, and I remember it being very interesting.
Anway, I'd love to see this show on a non-bootleg DVD and was wondering if anybody is organizing any kind of effort to get MTV to release it. They have a VHS release, so I presume a DVD release would be easy...assuming they have the rights to do it.

the Maxx was based off the comic of the same name, put out by Image comics a long while ago. just wondering, would it be up to it's creator Sam Kieth if a DVD ever surfaces?

I've talked to eric larson the owner or image... He has told me that Sam Keith owns all his own properties and can do what ever he pleases... Which is why he keeps releasing trade comics on the MAXX every once in a while on another comic company. So this would be up to Sam I would think... Unless MTV owns it... There was a dvd released of mtv oddities released in a different name. It was called clear tv or something.... I can't remember exactly..

Oh well, while they are getting their act together, I'll do the capitalist thing and go elsewhere.

EDIT: and I think Liquid TV was the name of the lineup of MTV's animated shows (kinda like Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup).

Erik Larsen is a co-owner of Image, along with Todd McFarlane, Jim Valentino and Marc Silvestri. Of course, all Image actually owns is their "I" logo, all characters are owned by their creators.

It was released offically on VHS over here in the UK and its a superb series and an amazing replication of the comic series, the comic was easily far ahead of its time and it as good as anything out there.
So In theory it could come out on DVD over here maybe
but I know america has many more hoops to jump thru with these type of releases, which is a shame as I seriously dont expect a UK release as I am sure it didnt exactly sell many at all.
I will keep my VHS for now I guess
