Amen to that! Each one of these movies will stay in your mind long after you've watched it - great, thought-provoking entertainment.

Only 4 of the 8 are due in March, the others are scheduled for June (2) and September (2). So, it won't be so bad having them staggered a little. I hear ya though, figured 05 would (thankfully) be a slow year for my DVD buying, but there's some great stuff coming out.

Expect a commentary by USC professor Drew Casper on Advise and Consent

Amazon now has the Controversial Classics Collection available to pre-order for $55.94. Unless a good deal pops up or I get a GC I will probably wait until the release to get it.

Drew Casper has some good insight, but the tone of his voice can be off putting....its so soft its hard to hear.

Man, the cover for 'I am a Fugitive....' is just great.
I've never seen any of these, but there are a couple of old noirs in there that I'd love to see and other very interesting looking films. I hate warner, they keep releasing stuff I have to buy :)

Any word on exact extras yet for these yet?

Do you guys think this box will be easy to find in stores like the Gangster, or Broadway box sets? Or really hard to find like the Classic Comedies box set?

Except that there are 7 movies in this "6 pack".

Let us hope that Warner now understands that these sets in higher demand then expected and they produce more.

Why not just preorder from DDD and avoid the problem altogether? I doubt any stores are going to have this cheaper than $46.

CostCo had the Gangsters set for $39.

The retail price of this set is $10 more than the Gangsters set.

thought i would bump for discussion, and so people could list the prices they were finding....i know many have already recieved the set, and are enjoying it. Hope i have time to dive in on this one this week.

I'm torn. I really want this set, but didn't pre-order it or anything. But these sets tend to be priced significantly higher in stores than places like DDD. Anyone know how much of a difference in price there is between the two?

Finally got this set yesterday. It looks incredible so far, I can't wait to dig into to some of these. I've never seen any of them before, but I watched Bad Day at Black Rock last night. A little overrated, imho, but still a good film. Tracy especially was great.
It wasn't quite as suspenseful as I'd hoped, though. I figured out pretty quickly what the town's secret was.
